Jail terms don't appear to work too well!

I've learned in life if something doesn't work after trying it once or twice, then in all likelihood it's not to work unless changes are made. Yet our justice system can't see to get their heads around this simple concept. One thing they might try is getting mental assessments done on repeat offenders to see how their heads work. Regardless they seem to be intent on "pulling teeth through the a$$hole"

They just might go back to truly "Hard Labour", and the death penalty. It is absolutely certain that a murderer that is executed, will not repeat their crime.

Make prison as unpleasant as humanly possible, and most people will NOT want to go back. Give them TV, exercise equipment, sports, conjugal visits, etc., etc., and why should they fear going back?

Yep, pull the teeth out through the rectum! Perhaps you can suggest how this gives them the skills, training to be able to function in society. Eventually the vast majority of them will get out, but with an attitude no better than when they went in. Perhaps you also explain how this addresses the mental problems a large number of them have.

A large part of it is because they insist on using the legal system to treat health issues. This must be sorted out first. Good luck. Then there are some that need to be locked up just to protect the rest of us.

Yep, like this a$$hole who has been mailing out body parts. It's too late for the likes of him, he started out being overwhelmed with his own self importance, combined with being likely a sexual degenerate, coupled with no conscience. THROW AWAY THE KEY.

Prisons are called "schools of crime" in there they learn how to make weapons with anything available,as for people like this sicko magnotta,he should be in for life no luxury,a good old cell no comfy bed and the minimum food "bread and water"

i know some will say i'm bad for thinking this, but again as i said, who is punished him or the family of the victim(s)?

In Montana the elders of a native tribe had to come out and bang drums celebrating that $25 millions was spent building a prison on their own reserve to contain all their own youth criminals.

Picture that. Canada has all the big Blackfeet tribes. They didn't join Sitting Bull's fight to sue for peace because of Red Coats and Red Crow.

Not $25 million for schools and teachers.

Not $25 million for tools of trade and training.

$25 million to employ rat little demons screaming how they want to be the last ones freaking in so many mastabatory self delusional ways about how Lucifer is worthy for it to be an honour to walk into his mouth and be eaten.

If you've had a dream feeling like it was a heartbroken-honour to walk into the eating-mouth of fungus-Lucifer (with sound-music) then... Luficer is dream-weaving your head with his fungus stoner phremth. It's heard to explain and you're seriously going to have to pray about it, but... uhh... how do I explain this... pretend you're a kid and you grow up to take the wisdom of your grandparents and get strong enough to take care of the situation. Pretend you get strong enough to go back and kill Licifer.

Now here's where it gets hyper-weird and I swear you have to have spent time praying on the material level to get this.

On the material level anything can happen. Every time physical scientists try to nail down quantum physics they run into quantum paradoxes.

On all levels its an issue of whether or not it can persist. We are humans, and angels gripe about why we are here, and I am going to honor God by hammering Lucifer into a basement-room so deap that he won't even notice he's in a pit, and I'm sorry if you can't stand that it turned out we can change history by changing it to set Lucifer against one of those dumb fat stupid planets we've discovered around other stars for that to be the place for him to be built up to think it's a gettaway to be swollen up and spit out without him noticing we're just analyzing to see if his type can handle that hot ecosphere while angles hang around and instead of them taking care of us we pay back and take care of them, but hmm.. well you know ... when Moses screwed up he got punished, and so did Joseph Smith.

Make prisons like hotels, sort of, except, you can't check out. There are plenty of serial criminals that will never be rehabbed for various reasons, but they continue their cycle endlessly. Piling up 50+ convictions, they won't and can't stop. So, put them in a nice prison for decades to make society safer.

Why do you think Canada has such a massive crime problem?

DD is right, the revolving door system of "justice" for repeat offenders is not working. So let's change it. With the current market system, thieves steal and we get higher prices for goods, and the baddies are still on the street. It has failed.

Back to the govt system of locking people up, so the thieves are gone and prices are lower. Easy peasy.

Yes we need prisons but there has to be some additional measures taken.
Prison is not a pleasant place and for someone on a dead end road they
will end up there more than once if nothing changes.
We must decide whether certain people are worth saving, if not warehouse
them for good. Those who can make the grad with encouragement should
be treated differently.
First make it tough as hell, After a period of time and discipline skills, the
person should be taught a trade or profession. In fact every person going
into prison should not be allowed out without at least a high school diploma.
the theory would be once a person has education and some measure of
value training they are more inclined to want to use the training for good.
If not the warehouse method comes if they re offend

Lots of reasons, lack of good examples set by politicians, business leaders, too much importance put on the almighty dollar and not enough on work ethic, lack of concern for fellow human beings and at the top of the list GREED on all fronts!

I am talking about petty thieves first, those who have FASD or some other issue that will never be cured and can't hold a job and just can't cope. For public safety they need to be put away in a nice hotel prison for long periods of time. They've been dealt deuces and threes in life and aren't going anywhere, I don't want to make them suffer, just make society safer.

Prison is already pretty tough, and still many go back again and again and again.
