Pity, In his latter years, Cheetah passed the time painting, watching American football, and listening to Christian music. A real American. Of all the actors in the Tarzan movies, Cheetah was the most convincing. A genuine character actor, he deserved an Oscar. Cheetah died of kidney failure.

I very much doubt this chimp is the real Cheetah. It says right in the article that the average lifespan in the wild is about 35 years and in captivity they can maybe get an extra 10 years. So an 80 year old chimp? Unlikely.

Over the years that the name 'Cheetah' was used did, the chimp ever also take a quick sideways look around just to verify the person using that word and looking at the him wasn't trying to warn them of an approaching hungry cheetah. Talk about crying 'wolf' for decades on end.
