There’s no such thing as Canadian values

Also, if you're going by a historical scoreboard, the worst fiscal offenders are Conservatives.

But none of this makes a difference in the grand scheme of things where we ignore the resolution of social matters in favour of fiscal matters. The current situation is a perfect example as our focus is now strictly on the economy (external - login to view).

You are partly right, N.D.P has been in power in B.C., Sask, Man, Ont. if they are not "Canadian" gov'ts what are they. Are you suggesting their philosophy would change if they were to form a Federal Gov't.?

Well I can't determine what policy would reflect Canadians as a whole if we're talking about provincial segments. The rhetoric coming from the pundits is that the federal NDP are moving toward the center to takeover the Liberal base. This may be true in the sense that the NDP is playing along with the economy drama that is currently enveloping all Canadians.

Oh yes, the N.D.P. stance is much softened from the days when they first replaced the C.C.F. In those days the rights of workers and workers' Unions were paramount, now they are starting to realize that business also makes a contribution and we have to at least give lip service to those who are putting up the funding. There is still much left to do for the N.D.P. including costing out all their proposals and then researching the source of the costing. No matter how they shuffle the cards, every benefit that they can provide for us comes back to being financed by the "recipient" of the "benefit".

I don't the extent of this lip service, but yes, that would be pretty sad.
