I just heard on C.B.C. news that the proposed jail is on the back burner to be revisited months down the road, as there is apparently no immediate need for one. At the beginning of the year they were looking for an immediate decision as to location (Lumby, Winfield, Summerland, Penticton, Penticton I.R.) Referenda were held. How much money has been pissed down the drain on this charade? Politicians are so fickle!

If there's a true need for more prisons how is it squandering? There's a whole list of garbage I would rather cut before a new prison.

There probably isn't as much a need for more prisons than a need for managing better what they have. For one thing you can take the pedaphiles and drug dealers and traffickers and put them 10 to a cell, along with the white collar criminals. Most of the rest can be managed in the community, especially with ankle bracelets that can track their location at all times.
