Turkey in warning to Israel: You have one day to apologize for Gaza flotilla raid - Haaretz Daily Newspaper | Israel News

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu says UN-authored Palmer report on the 2010 incident must be published by September 2 as scheduled, and threatens sanctions if Israel doesn't apologize beforehand.

Turkey declared Thursday that it would not tolerate further delay in the release of a United Nations report concerning Israel's deadly raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla in 2010, and warned of consequences including sanctions should Israel continue to refuse to apologize for the incident.
Publication of the Palmer Commission's report into the Israel Defense Force's raid, in whichTurkish activists died aboard the Mavi Marmara, has been postponed three times. In each case the delay took place following the consent of both Turkey and Israel, and as a result of their joint request to the UN secretary general.

Haaretz reported earlier this week that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had suggested to both Turkey and to the United Nations secretary general that the release date again be postponed past the scheduled September 2 release date, and that the idea was dismissed by the Turks.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu told the Turkish daily Today Zaman on Thursday that Ankara "could not accept a six-month extension."
"The release date of the UN report is the last date for us. We will put Plan B into play if no [Israeli] apology,” Davutoğlu told the Today's Zaman, without elaborating on what that "Plan B" may be.
In another reference to the possible consequences that would occur in the eventuality that Israel continued to avoid a public apology for the raid, the Turkish FM said that Turkey intended to " impose sanctions which both Israel and other international parties are aware of."
Davutoğlu explained, according to the Today Zaman, that Turkey has determined a very clear and principled position and that it will also do what is necessary.
According to the top Turkish official, Israel and Turkey were in fact already on their way to resolve the issue that has stood between the long-time allies for over a year, saying that the two countries were well on their way to agreeing on an apology, when Israel reportedly "stepped back" at the last minute due to what the Zaman has called "intra-coalition squabbles while making a political decision."
We patiently waited for Israel to decide. It seems Israel has some difficulty in making a decision. Turkey has already determined its position on this issue. We have already expressed that we cannot accept that,” Davutoğlu added.
The Turkish FM also said that Ankara would fulfill all that is required from it when the UN announces the report, adding that the flotilla raid report will not be a “jointly approved report” and that there might also be some elements that Turkey won't agree to. “We will unveil our position regarding those [elements],” he added.

Yep....

That's right.

The Israelis need to apologize for the completely legal blockade, and for trying to prevent Hamas arming themselves to the teeth so they can kill more Israeli civilians.

Israel needs to apologize to Turkey for acting in a perfectly legal manner in boarding a ship financed by Islamist elements in the Turkish gov't, and manned by some Turkish Islamists seeking martyrdom.

The Israeli military needs to apologize for sending commandos aboard armed with Paint Ball guns in their hands, and holstered handguns.

Israeli commandos need to apologize for resisting being beaten shot stabbed and thrown overboard.

The Israeli Sgt that did most of the killing in defense of his downed comrades needs to apologize for saving their lives and behaving so indiscretely........

And every Jew on earth needs to apologize for drawing breath.

Line up peacefully at the gas chambers, please. No pushing.

that is the ONLY thing that will satisfy the Jew-haters.

None of that is true and has already been thoroughly debunked.

Ah yes....wrong on all counts, as usual.... :)

The now completed UN Inquiry on last year’s Gaza flotilla incident aboard the Mavi Marmara found that Israel’s blockade of Hamas-ruled Gaza is legal and the Israeli government owes no apology or reparation to Turkey.

Michael Ross: UN rules that Israeli blockade is legal in blow to failing flotilla | Full Comment | National Post

You should read the article........it will be an education.

The claims I made below were from the Israeli investigation;

Now the part that is going to really take the starch out of the flotilla activist’s kafiyehs is that in its examination of the Turkel Committee’s report – the committee conducting Israel’s official investigation – aided by Nobel Peace Prize winner David Trimble and former Canadian Forces former Judge Advocate General, Ken Watkin QC, is its conclusion that the Israeli investigation (in stark contrast to
Turkey’s) was conducted in a professional and independent manner.

Israel has been completely vindicated, as usual.

You are wrong, as usual.

You know, you really should STFU about things you know nothing about....you'd look less the fool.

Speaking of which...

I think this prediction...

Belongs in here as well.

And the UN Speaks ref the Gaza Blockade and Israeli's confrontation.

Guess you and Turkey are told to pound Salt. I can help. Remember - It only hurts going in.

UN panel says Gaza blockade was legal - The Globe and Mail

A long-awaited United Nations report on a May 2010 Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound ship that killed nine Turks says that Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip was legal, the New York Times reported on Thursday.

The report by a panel of investigators, which was due to be released on Friday but was leaked in full to the Times, also said that Israeli commandos faced “organized and violent resistance from a group of passengers.”

It also had some criticism of Israel. It said the amount of force used by the Israelis on board the Mavi Marmara, the largest in a flotilla of six ships that the crew said were delivering aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, was “excessive and unreasonable.”

The release of the so-called Palmer report was delayed repeatedly to allow for Israeli-Turkish rapprochement talks. Washington has been concerned at the rift between two countries that had been strategic partners in an increasingly stormy Middle East.

The report, prepared by a UN panel headed by former New Zealand prime minister Geoffrey Palmer, was originally expected to be completed in February.

But the Turks and Israelis were never able to reach an agreement on what happened and what the conclusions of the report should be, diplomats and UN officials said. As a result, one UN official said, the report is not a “consensus document.”

Israel, however, expressed some satisfaction.

“The bottom line is that the Israeli actions were legal,” a senior Israeli official told Reuters on condition of anonymity. “It [the report] says the naval blockade was legal under international law.”

It is also significant that the report confirmed Israel’s right to search ships in international waters, the official said. He said he hoped Israel and Turkey could put the flotilla incident behind them and rebuild their once-strong ties.

“I hope that we [Israel and Turkey] can ... go forward in our relationship,” he said.

Its just polite to apologize when you gun down another country's citizens in cold blood, even if you don't really mean it.

In cold blood would mean that Israel acted outside the law and without provocation. That is simply untrue.

As has been clearly proven by myself, several times, and supported by the UN's own findings.

They did not, they acted within the law, in self defence.

Please avoid posting misleading propaganda.

So the UN is wrong as they do not agree with your preconceived opinion - Now Israel should apologize as you say`for gunning down in cold blood.

So how do you arrive at that hair brained conclusion. Oh yes - Israeli`s acted within the Law, Blockade is Legal - Damm the UN must be run by those cursed Jews.

God who do you call as a ghost buster once the facts come out?
The blockade was legal, the UN is the authoritative body as recognized
by the world in general. We may not like the UN but respect for that
body is recognized internationally so it is really the last word. People today
respond by their misinformed opinions rather than by the facts presented.
This is why I often say perception is reality rather than having reality be well
reality..
The fact that Turkey would take such action is not likely either, as in the background
there is a lot of business conducted between the two nations especially in the area
of Agriculture. Most people do not realize many of the vast orchards especially in
cherries, the work the land and the legislation is conducted by Turkey, the business
and the trademarks especially in cherry variety production is owned by the Israelis.
I am well aware of this as many of the varieties of cherries come from Canada
believe it or not..
Most interesting discussion though, and most do not realize just what a contribution
Turkish Agriculture makes to the continent of Europe it would amaze you. Why do
you think they are being considered to join the European Common Market.
It is not politics its really about economics and money will win every time. Palestinians
are expendable, money and investment partnerships are not. Especially when the
story of the blockade produces a not guilty verdict by the world body that influences such
matters

IMHO, I think the whole thing is posturing on the eve of that report. The report will be released, and Israel will be either condembed or vindicated and Turkey and Isreal will conclude whatever negotiations they were working on and move on with a joint statement. Turkey felt they would strengthen their position by releasing this statement 1 day early. That is all.

No it's illegal, pretty much everything they do is illegal.

As well the paint guns were completely proven wrong as well. Israel thinks we're all stupid, think it's easy to lie and get away with it.
It's easy to see why they think that when looking at people such as yourself, lapping up everything they say as absolute truth without question.
Fortunately not everyone is as dimwitted as you.
