Gang land shooting in Kelowna BC

Excitement around here today police are everywhere. Choppers overhead a couple of times
this afternoon. Apparently there was a shooting a short time ago at the Delta Grand Hotel on
the waterfront in Kelowna. According to police scanner there are some injured in hospital and
one dead so far. They have a description of a get away vehicle and they found the other vehicle
a cigarette boat they used to cross Okanagan Lake.
Details are sketchy but apparently AK 47's were used in this little caper.
Turn on your TV for the major news tonight there will be more on this for sure. Police radio has
gone silent for the last ten minutes but will provide more details.

Update conflicting, five in hospital, one critical and no further mention of a dead victim. Police
stopped a vehicle on city streets and one suspect was seen running through the arts district
near the library with a weapon. More shooting victims are heading for hospital.
Very interesting.

Two vehicles and a boat used in the operation of this gang style shooting.
People were pretty good at getting numbers, they found the boat already
and they have the licence numbers of both get away vehicles along with
descriptions of those running from the scene. It happened just around the
3pm mark this afternoon.

Hopefully the only ones that end up killed will be the gang-bangers themselves. I hope no innocent bystanders are killed, or even seriously hurt...

petros the bar across the street you refer to is long gone its a parking lot now. It was called
the Willow Inn and it was the bikers home. No this is the Delta Grand the number one hotel
and it hosts the Casino as well. Very busy on a Sunday afternoon down there. Police are
looking for a number of vehicles in fact they just mentioned there is good quality cameras
for security in that area and the big brass are now at the scene as well including the chier
superintendent

Judging from today's activities, they are not retired but they are hanging out in a retirement community. I guess that is why all the old farts are hiding behind brick walls in the gated communities.

The past 20 years hasn't done that region any favours.

Actually Cliffy they are here because it is a junction point between Calgary and the Lower Mainland.
There is a lot of money here and good weather. There are a lot of groups and the gangs are able
to afford homes of over a million bucks and set up grow ops right in residential neighbourhoods.
Maybe we should bring back the War Measures Act and round up all the gangs, suspected gangs
and those who might become gang members (note tongue in cheek here) that was we wouldn't
have to bother with all that court time and paperwork.
