Jason Kenney is called a "hunter" because he is pursuing illegal immigrants in Canada. This means even if immigrants break the law, to pursue them is wrong. Kenney a hunter who will symbollically kill them. The rule of law seems to mean little to some people, because when they break it, no problem. Kenney is doing the right thing, too many people have come into Canada under dubious means, and if they have, they need to be deported.

“Immigrant Hunter” Kenney On Citizenship Revocation Spree

OTTAWA — The newly elected Conservative government has wasted no time in hunting down suspected immigrants with the slightest of suspicion about their status.

Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney, aka the “immigrant hunter”, is beginning the process to revokethe citizenship of up to 1,800 citizens who the government claims have obtained it fraudulently.

“Canadian citizenship is not for sale,” said Kenney. “There are some around the world who would abuse Canada’s openness and seek to devalue Canadian citizenship. We will apply the full force of Canadian law to punish those who have obtained citizenship fraudulently.”

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is increasing the number of revocations it pursues as a result of its ongoing investigations into residence fraud in Canada. To date, approximately 1,800 citizens may have obtained citizenship fraudulently, many by using the services of crooked consultants to misrepresent their residence in Canada.

“Canada welcomed 143,535 new citizens in 20101. Obviously, the vast majority of these new Canadians obtained their citizenship honestly. We are defending the interests of these law-abiding new citizens by taking action against the small number of those who seek to cheapen the value of Canadian citizenship by acquiring it illicitly,” the Minister added.

But many immigrant groups have criticized Kenney’s blatant anti-immigrant tactics disguised as fighting fraud. And many of the government’s initiatives like calling many Black and South Asians wanted on suspicions of entering Canada illegally as “war criminals” as xenophobic.

CIC has increased the resources dedicated to combating residence fraud in the past year. Many of the people under investigation are suspected of using consultants to falsely establish evidence of residence in Canada while continuing to live abroad most, or all, of the time. A family of five may pay upwards of $25,000 over four or more years to create the illusion of residence in Canada. Citizenship fraud is a global problem. To date, individuals from over 60 different countries have been implicated in this fraud.

The Government of Canada is taking action to crack down on the actions of crooked consultants during the immigration process. Bill C-35, originally introduced as the Cracking Down on Crooked Consultants Act, came into force on June 30, 2011. The Act imposes penalties on unauthorized representatives who provide, or offer to provide, advice or representation for a fee at any stage of an immigration application or proceeding.

I'm not sure why the Canadian govt would worry about Canadians in the USA or any other country, they are no burden to the Canadian taxpayer and they are breaking no Canadian laws. We would have to take them back of course if deported.

Aye aye Friday.

Sounds like a good plot for a made-for-tv movie.

Today, the CBC brings you the thrilling political blockbuster "Hunter". A story of a political minister chasing illegals through the alleys of Vancoucer and Toronto...

Canada does not need to provide endless appeals to illegals. Under international law, you can be considered guilty until proven innocent. Reasonable grounds are all that is required for deportation because the security of the nation is more important than a national from another country we know little about. They can get an adequate hearing, then be deported back to where they came from. They don't have to get access to the expensive courts.

Criminal law is different, it says you are innocent and the crown must prove your guilt. The Conservatives understand this difference far better than the Liberals or the NDP.

Actually I see it more as a "reality" tv show.

Think Dog:The Bounty Hunter. Now insert Jason Kenney.

Politics is a lot like reality television...mostly scripted nonsense that many dumbasses will lap up like trained seals.

look after your own mess.

It would be nice if the government applied the same standards across the board but it never does - Hispanics and Haitians are routinely kicked out, but Canadians, Israelies, and Europeans are always allowed to stay. Too bad the government is comprised of such a bunch of bigoted bassturds!

Will he help tracking down Canadians who live illegally in the States?
Interesting about U.S. Immigration.... If you go downthere to visit (with a passport), and begin doing some kind of paperwork to be able to stay, they put a block on your passport so you can't leave the U.S... you'd think they would kick the person out of the country till the paperwork is done.

(Don't understand why this is printing bold..)

A link could be another forum. But this makes sense. Seems to go against the Canadian grain these days though of treating all the world's people as economic equals when they are not. A colour blind world, how noble, how fake.

The world is unfair, this is real politic. People from first world countries end to be much more productive than people from third world countries. That's what the USA wants, a better economy and you get that from workers with more education, excellent English language skills, and ability to easily assimilate and not live in ethnic ghettos. They make more money and pay more taxes, what's not to like about Canadians, Europeans or Israelis here? We should take in more Europeans here. But I've said that, I'm repeating myself here.

Some people jump at bait like a rabid frothing shark.
