Foreskin's Lament
I started reading this book with the expectation it would be funny. So far it has just traumatized me with suppressed childhood memories. I can see where there are supposed to be jokes but sadly for me they aren't funny. The really bad part is that the main characters family isn't nearly as religious as mine was!! 8O
I wasn't Jewish but in terms of extreme child abuse like that, religion transcends its label and shows itself as the sick monster it really is.
Has anyone else read this book yet?
If your religious and have a child you want to raise religiously I hope you'll read this book and reconsider. If you do and still want to raise your child religiously then I hope you get hit by a bus - your child would be better off without you.
