Actor James Stacy has died at the age of 79.
The Lancer star passed away following an allergic reaction to a medication on Sept. 9 in Ventura, California, according to the New York Times.
Stacy began his career in the 1950s and made his film debut in Sayonara in 1957. He appeared in his first TV show, Highway Patrol, the same year and went on to star in movies and TV shows including The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, Gunsmoke, and Flareup.
In 1973, Stacy was struck by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle with Claire Cox. Cox passed away as a result of the accident and Stacy lost an arm and a leg.
In 1975, he returned to acting in Kirk Douglas’ Posse and last appeared in 1992’s The New WKRP in Cincinnati TV series.
The actor was married to actresses Connie Stevens and Kim Darby and spent six years in prison in the 1990s for pleading no contest to molesting an 11-year-old girl.
