Star Trek icon Leonard Nimoy has been hospitalised in Los Angeles after suffering severe chest pains last week.
The actor was taken to UCLA Medical Center by ambulance last Thursday, according to reports.
Sources have confirmed the news to TMZ.com, but Nimoy’s representatives have yet to release a statement about the star’s health.
Nimoy has made no mention of his health emergency online, but he took to his Twitter.com blog late on Sunday and shared a philosophical post with fans, writing, “A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.”

He'll always be known for his spot on portrayal of one of the great characters of 60s entertainment culture, Spock. Perfectly placed in the troika of emotional archetypes amongst Bones McKoy and James Tiberius Kirk. Rip.

Of the original main cast, now only Kirk, Checkoff, Sulu and Ohura are still alive.
