So i went for a new phone and ended up with the razr. I want to do some mods to it but i believe it needs to be unlocked first correct? How can i check if my phone is currently locked to Rogers, and how can i unlock it if it is locked? I have a USB adapter (i cant beleive Rogers tries to sell these for so much money, its just the same mp3 player/digital camera adapter). I also have some software. What exactly do i need to unlock and start modding?

THX

pick up a screw driver, and dive it in the middle of your phone!

the worst they can do?...em, if it's a contract, sue you, if it's a pay as you go, just refuse to fix it, they'll probably do the second, but hey, you might be lucky

oh erm......see, I should have realised it was a contract, thats where the problem lies, I would seriously think about this before you go forward, basically because written in the samll print u'll find it states that the phone is the property of the phone company, not urs and as such they'll sue if you do stuff like that to it

Well, actually .. the phone is ours when we sign a contract ... cuz once .. my mom got it disconnected and they told her the phone was our .. and that she needed to pay what she owed

it unlocks all the settings the company have put into it to stop u using anyone else, so basically it free's it up to use anything.

but yeah u've obviously had some experience with this phone before, just the stuff I learned when working for a phone retailer in the uk, just check the small print very carefully ok

What small print? And i just talked to my mom and she said that her friend call them the Rogers store not to touche anything on the phone .. the she could fix the error .. and they told her ok , and they have sent a fax to the business office. so i might be lucky.
