Try this on your nokia 6100 series phone: *3001#12345#

It will give you information and access to change some settings on your phone, ie: NAM 1 will bring you in to change emergency phone number etc.

As an addition if you are looking at purchasing a Nokia 6100 phone, the 6185 DOES NOT allow you to SEND sms messages, if you are looking to be able to send and receive sms messages get the Nokia 6185i or higher.

but I think they stopped making 6185's. Or it could just be your provider... because 5165s and 5190s can send sms.

No the 6185's are still in production, at least in canada, and according to Nokias manuals and help for the 6185, it CAN not send sms messages, however the 6185i can. Nokia has a weird modeling system as well. Some phones could be a lesser # yet be newer. It can be very misleading to people.
