Sam Ray, 18, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., thought it might be the end for him.
He was working under his truck when the jack gave out and the truck came crashing down.
His ribs were broken, his kidney crushed, and his arms trapped.
"It was kind of the realization that, 'What in the world just happened?' And 'Oh my gosh, this could be the end," he told Nashville's News 2.
He was home alone, so there was nobody around to hear his screams ... except Siri, the personal assistant on his iPhone he didn't really care for until the very moment when, trapped, crushed and alone, he heard her voice.
He told News 2 he was able to push up on his hip to activate Siri in his pocket and ask her to call 911.
"The greatest thing he did was keep saying his address so we could get everybody there," dispatcher Christina Lee told the TV station.
Ray, who is still recovering from the accident which occurred July 2, told the station he has a new appreciation for Siri.
"After I realized that, "Oh wow, this is kind of a useful thing."
