Premier announces he’ll hire a consultant to get to the bottom of the consultants situation.




Paddon found that despite the fact the government had recently saved $5.6 million by getting rid of several consultants and creating cheaper permanent staff positions instead, the government still pays many consultants when in-house staff could do the work.


“There were 106 external consultants that had worked for two or more consecutive years on more than one project during the scope period of our review,” the auditor general’s report said.

One of the big problems with getting anything done in a timely manner is the shear volume of consultants one has to deal with these days. Seems like every special interest group has it's own fleet of consultants.
