this is a general question:
what is the nicest thing a total stranger has ever done for you?
for myself i was out on a country road and had a flat and of course my spare was flat as well
an older gentleman in a pick up was coming toward me and stopped to see if he could help, i already had the tire off to lug to the nearest gas station and he told me balderdash and took the flat and spare with him and was back in 30 minutes
i offered to pay him
all he said was that that was the way they did things and try to do the same for someone else
any of you been treated this way?

A lady picked me up on the highway as I had run out of gas, she took me to the gas station and waited while I filled up the jerry can she then drove me back and waited to make sure the car started- I have also paid that favour forward many times and will continue to do so.

Pay it forward. People are so evil without this saving grace.

I had a flat on the highway a long time ago, I pulled over and was standing staring at it,
wondering where to start first, and a car pulled up, a man came over and offered to
fix it for me, which was a nice gesture, but he was quite drunk, and, although he tried
to be very efficient, I had to hold back the smile, cause he fumbled around quite a bit,and I pretended to be a sincere assistant,
we did get through it eventually, and he sauntered off, and drove away, he should not have
been driving, but he was trying so hard to 'act sober', and probably thought I hadn't noticed his condition, but my car was fixed, and off I went.

In my youth baseball was my best sport. One day at age 12 or 13, I blew away my opponents by pitching a no hitter. A gentleman who was in his 50s or 60 told me that I reminded him of the legendary Sandy Koufax when he was a super star at Lafayette High School in Brooklyn. Words cannot describe how I felt then --- the great feeling his words gave lasts with me to this day.

I have to say I've been pretty blessed to have encountered more kind and decent people in my life than unkind or uncaring people. I know there have been many large acts of kindness extended to me - but for some reason the one that sticks out right now is that someone bought me a coffee anonymously once - it was the car in front of me at the Timmy's drive through. I've never forgotten that, and I do it myself on occasion now too. It's really quite a kick - if you've never done it, you should try it at least once. It's just a great way to spread some feel good around, and I think it just carries forward into that person's day - these are such small and easy things we can do to remind each other that we're all in this together - we all matter, and we all care.
