Social stuff!!!!!

It all started 6 years ago when I became a fan of Avril Lavigne. I was twelve at that time and I began to hear that she came from Canada. I didn’t know what Canada was at that time and started exploring. Almost instantly I fell in love with the country. It was beautiful and I really like the Canadian attitude. It seems to me as a very warm and traditional country as on the other hand progressive too. Something I really like.

At this time in my life my biggest dream is to emigrate to Canada one day, but when I heard that my study offered me a chance to do my third year internship abroad I knew that this was a great way of experience Canada for the first time.

I’m studying social work, I’m in my first year now and I really enjoy it. I’m also started a part-time internship on a school with children who have autism. I’m working in a class with 11 and 12 year old boys. Which I really like. As you can see I’m already building up my first bits of experience.

What I would really like is an internship that involves children. I’ve always been good with children. I’m searching for an internship for 2009- 2010 with a duration of 10 months. If you feel like you can offer me the opportunity or you know where I could build up good connections please contact me. Also contact me please if you have any related questions.

I’m not only searching for a job, I would also love it to be part of a family for that 10 months. In other words I’m searching for a guest family. I’m happy with a family of any composition. But I prefer a job and guest family in a (really) small(er) town. I’m not such a city-girl If you’re interested in letting me into your home to experience the Canadian way of living or if you have questions please contact me .

My email : Lisa-van-der-Heide@zonnet.nl

I appreciate everything from everybody. And I’ll react surely.

Lots of love,

Lisa

Lisa....Johai here....welcome to the forum.....and the best to you in your studies...I have no doubt that you will find a guest home...Canadians are very generous and progressive in that area. Keep up your efforts and you shall succeed.

Again welcome and all the best to you,

Hi, Lisa, sweet Dutch girl!!

Isn't there an information office or the Canadian Embassy in Amsterdam you could contact for info on how to go about this? I can't see how we here at CC could help you, besides wishing you...

Hope to meet you some day hiking on the Bruce Trail!!!

Welcome Lisa, I just spotted your name on the new member list. Crazy life, getting in the way of greeting new friends.

I wish I could help you, alas, I have very few ideas for you on this one. But I wish you luck. Hopefully we'll get to hear more about it on the forum.
