Very impressive effort.
On Vancouver Island we are lazy and we can grow Parsley, Thyme, Oregano, Sage, Dill, Basil outside. The odd time we have snow, the plants get covered but it doesn't seem to hurt them. I've considered a small greenhouse to increase the growth in Winter but I haven't yet got around to it. We have to keep an eye out for any flowers and pinch them off or they will go to seed.
Some herbs are quite expensive so it is worth while to grow your own.

Hmmm Sounds lot more like bragging then explaining. Not my intention.
Any ideas what to use in a substrata? I have a bunch of hydrocorn that will provide excellent base for drainage but I've got miles to go on what the rest of the composition should look like
