This is very good news!

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah movement has struck an agreement with bitter rival Hamas on forming an interim government and fixing a date for a general election, officials said on Wednesday.
The surprise deal was brokered by Egypt and followed secret talks between the two sides, who fought a brief civil war in 2007 that left the Islamist Hamas in control of the Gaza Strip and the Western-backed Abbas in charge of the West Bank.
Forging Palestinian unity is regarded as crucial to reviving any prospect for an independent Palestinian state.
“We have agreed to form a government composed of independent figures that would start preparing for presidential and parliamentary elections,” said Azzam al-Ahmad, the head of Fatah’s negotiating team in Cairo. “Elections would be held in about eight months from now,” he added.
Ordinary Palestinians have repeatedly urged their leaders to resolve their deep divisions, but analysts had long argued that the differences between the two sides on issues such as security and diplomacy were too wide to bridge.
Mahmoud al-Zahar, a senior Hamas leader who participated in the talks, said the agreement covered five points, including elections, forming an interim unity government and combining security forces.
“We also discussed activating the Palestinian Legislative Council, the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) as well as forming a government consisting of nationalist figures to be agreed upon,” Mr. Zahar told Al Jazeera television in an interview.

Hopefully, elections will come to pass, and hopefully, the Palestinians will elect a sane government.......in a free and fair election.

Actually this is a positive sign, it shows the hard line groups within these organizations
are losing their influence in favour of negotiation in some kind of civilized manner.

All that without one candidate uttering one word, how about we let you decide right now and spare everyone over there the trouble of listening and then voting. Perhaps they are not yet aware that both parties will not be making decisions on their own.

Once all the Arab (Gentiles) refugees are voting in Israeli elections maybe they will change the name to something a little less insulting to God (which is what it is now) and call it 'Getreal'.

How is 2 terrorist groups getting together "good news"?

The only "moderate" government they can elect must recognize Israel's right to exist - which Fatah and Hamas would never support.

Why is everyone assuming that Abbas will overflow Hamas, with the rioting (at the cost of some lives) going on in the other Nations perhaps he is saying enough to 'giving in' when land is still disappearing at an even faster rate, united those two parties might even have enough strength to get the UN Courts doing the 'listening'.

Israel already 'floated' the idea of a very large 'port' for Gaza, might have been the wine talking as it wasn't followed up. The same deal for Gaza would be to forget the island part and use 3 sq mi of Gaza for the port.

As for your little pet words, when was the last time Hezbollah was called a 'terrorist organization'? Hint, try before the became the elected Gov of Lebanon. Get with the times.
