I've noticed a few videos where US troops refer to Iraqis as 'Hajjis' more or less in an equivalent spirit as when Japabese were referred to as Japs, or the Germans as Krauts, etc.

'Hajj' means 'pilgrimage' in the Arabic language, and -i means person. So 'hajji' usually indicates a Muslim who's done the pilgrimage to Mecca, and is used as a title of respect for such a person.
