Wikileaks has released a sensitive 219 page US military counterinsurgency manual. The manual, Foreign Internal Defense Tactics Techniques and Procedures for Special Forces (1994, 2004), may be critically described as "what we learned about running death squads and propping up corrupt government in Latin America and how to apply it to other places". Its contents are both history defining for Latin America and, given the continued role of US Special Forces in the suppression of insurgencies, including in Iraq and Afghanistan, history making.
The leaked manual, which has been verified with military sources, is the official US Special Forces doctrine for Foreign Internal Defense or FID.
FID operations are designed to prop up a "friendly" government facing a popular revolution or guerilla insurgency. FID interventions are often covert or quasi-covert due to the unpopular nature of the governments being supported ("In formulating a realistic policy for the use of advisors, the commander must carefully gauge the psychological climate of the HN [Host Nation] and the United States.")

Oh you'll always be here Mickey unless you know something I don't. Hospital eh, it's the wrong time of year for that but I don't suppose you were there slacking off. What were the nurces like or did you have time to scope them? Why do most nurces have that appeal, I just want to hug them when I'm in thier care.
That pendulum will stop soon enough, when depression and war come to our shores as it surely will, I'v read much about the economic nightmare we have entered and most of the forcasts are very dim indeed, my father told me things about the last great depression I think we will experiance it very possibly before this year is out. There does not seem to be a way out except through the event but as sure as I'm alive I will also see socialism bloom and the crushing of capitalists for all time so it does have a silver lining in the end. I just wish so many did not have to die.

Yes it seems that people won't do anything until things get bad enough to affect them directly. It's an attitude of .."Well someone will come along and fix the energy crisis...Someone will come along and fix the climate crisis....someone will come along and fix the "X" crisis......

As people watch their homes wash away down the Mississippi and the automotive plants close and the store shelves get bare and the whole damn thing spirals down the drain....they'll look around for someone to blame........
