NABLUS, West Bank - Israeli troops in jeeps swooped down on the West Bank town of Nablus early Monday, shutting down a girls' school, a medical center and two other facilities of a Hamas-affiliated charity, witnesses said.
Israelis deserve our respect,don't they? Gaza is free right, Colpy? Free to do with as Israel wants. I can't understand why Palestinians lke Jews.

I would have never believed that I'd be sitting here in 2008 and there still wouldn't be a Palestinian state. This conflict isn't a particularly complicated one, but it seems that there won't be a Palestinian state anytime soon, and a lot of folks are to blame, including my own government.

My country made a strategic decision in the 90s to start actively supporting Hamas, a group that allied with Saddam during our 8 year war with Iraq. The Rafsanjani government made this decision to support Hamas because the Israelis had thwarted every possible breakthrough in a US-Iran reproachment, and the calculation in Tehran was that if a Palestinian state is established, and Iran is isolated from the US, then the Arabs will direct their anger towards us and this time with Israel on their back.
So it became strategically vital to make sure the focus of Arab anger stays on Israel, and for this reason they started funding Palestinian rejectionist groups like Hamas.
And unless relations with the US are normalized in the next 2 years, Palestinian rejectionist groups will continue to get financial support and thus make peace and a Palestinian state impossible.

I disagree that any people "need a homeland"
They can integrate with whatever country they are born in, or not, depending on if the country is free and open.
But those born in Israel are born there, and can stay there, regardless of the sins of their grandfathers.
Likewise those "palestinians" born in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Jordan should be allowed to integrate into their country. Because it is their country, its where they were born and the only country they have ever known.

Colpy -you certainly surprise me. You know so much but stated that you are not Jewish.
I agree, the Palestinians would recognize their former tormentors and no doubt kill them but then if one had killed my son or daughter and I happened to sit beside that one on a bus his life would be in danger. Is that what you mean by "shoveling themselves into ovens"? I'm glad to see that you didn't forget to use more Jewish magic words--like Holocaust OVENS-very creative ---you got them in
