Again, I hate to point this out.
But glass houses much?
We are nation of immigrants, next to a nation of immigrants 10 times our size, both of whom came into existence in a far more extreme example of this.
Neither of our groups are exactly handing soveriegnty to native groups. Hell, the amount of contempt for natives here is pretty extreme in many cases.
Don't get me wrong, I don't see why I should be responsible for what my ancestors did, or for my other ancestors moving into a land where this was already done before they got here.
So why the double standard for Israel? regardless of its creation, those people are by and large dead or dying.
Most of the "refugees" are not in the definition of the word used in the entire rest of the world for people in far worse situations.

And those people still alive who were born in Israel should be allowed to come back, thats about several thousand versus several million being the difference.
And those in Israel even potentially guilty are an even smaller number (since you need to be a certain age to have fought versus been born).
The Idea of Israel needing to "go home" is rather silly. They are born there, that is there home.
Palestinians need to fight for rights of the country of their birth, not the country their home nations are trying to exhile them too.

Rare footage released this month shows an apparent attack on a Palestinian woman by Jewish settlers in the West Bank, and an Israeli human rights group has handed out more video cameras to document similar incidents.
Thamam al-Nawaja spent three days in hospital with a broken arm, fractured jaw and hemouraghed eye. The 58-year-old Palestinian woman said her attackers told her she had 10 minutes to leave the area.
"We will never leave our land," she says in Arabic. "We will die on it."

The attackers will most certainly grab those cameras and smash them!!

They aren't. When people are blasting children into chunky soup, nice behaviour kind of goes away with everyone.
Ideas of "fair and just" go the way side and the next thing you know it everyone who looks funny and moves within two feet of you gets mauled. That happens here too.
Watch what happens to people around their kids in this country when a paedophile is on the loose waiting to hurt kids.
Now imagine several hundred thousand people looking to hurt your kids.

What do you think a Suicide bomber looks like? Do you think they are easily identified by their black tophats and handlebar mustaches?
Does a 13 year old child playing with a toy look like a suicide bomber? Unfortunately the answer has been shown to be yes, that is what suicide bombers look like. Suicide bombers also are old men and women, ladies who appear to be pregnant (more room for explosives) and all kinds of fun tricks that have been used over the years.
Do I understand why Palestinians are so harsh to Israelis? Of course, the logic about "inhuman" ferocity and aggressiveness when your children are at risk works both ways.
But the Palestinians need the situation to change alot more, and they are being alot more ruthless.
Regardless of how bad you think the Israelis are acting, it shouldn't be an actual surprise that they could be nigh infinately worse. If a major industrialized nation truly wanted total warfare with a disorganized unindustrialized mess it would be over within 10 minutes. The methods are numerous, carpet bombing, irradiation, etc. None of that has occurred.
Palestinian forces are litterally pulling out all stops for total warfare, attacking children , using their own children as living bombs, attacking their own people to cause disease. Can you imagine the devastation Israel would cause within 2 days if they just openly went to erradicate Palestinian children with explosives? Thousands of cruise missiles blasting every school, mosque, playground, youth center and soccer field. Israel has proven it won't sink to that level, Palestinian forces have proven they would do that if only they had the resources to pull it off.
The idea that violence is somehow rare and shameful to all of Israel in a warzone is mind boggling to me.
Yes its a vicious beating, yes the individuals responsible should face jail time equal to what they would in Canada or America.
As a side note, depending on the circumstances I should regretfully inform you that may be nothing at all if we use our laws.
Especially American laws, if that was the Settlers land legally (whether or not morally, I should point out the moral issues of Canadian land ownership issues in much of Canada such as Tyendinaga), then they may be legally allowed to drive off and assault the intruders.
Which is the point I get to.
It doesn't bother me so much when people hold Israeli people and the Israeli government to their actions. Its when it holds them to a standard in war time, higher than we ourselves are held to in peacetime.
It is not a desire to see Israeli people as immaculate. Its a desire for people to get off their hypocritical high horse and not go around claiming moral superiority to people who's own actions are superior to our own in most ways. And certainly superior to their adversaries whom are often not held accountable to their actions at all in flagrantly racist bullshoi, acting like palestinians are some kind of mentally infirm subhuman race who need us strong westerns to think for them because apparently people don't think they can be considered intelligent enough to be accountable for their own actions.

The week in review:
Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip on Sunday fired a barrage of Qassam rockets toward the western Negev, which exploded in open fields in the Eshkol region. A migrant worker was lightly hurt by shrapnel in one of the blasts.
Also on Sunday, Border police troops arrested a Palestinian teenager at the Hawara checkpoint, near Nablus, after catching him in possession of six pipe bombs.
The troops discovered the home-made explosives in a bag carried by the teen during a routine check. They also found a magazine for rifle ammunition

In addition, a missile, apparently of a type "Grad" landed near Ashkelon. No injuries were reported but a number of people suffered from shock. The city's alert system did not sound prior to the missile's landing.

Of course you can post those every day. I have no doubt the Palestinian side of it could be posted every day too and except for the names and the model of rocket, all the stories would be the same. If the press would just shut off and ignore then - because the tales are getting old anyhow - and let both sides have at each other until they're both out of bullets, bombs, dynamite, eggs, spitballs - whatever ... and arrest and pound senseless anyone caught bringing in anything at all to either side, maybe these idiots would get back to the business of shepherding, olive picking and diamond trading.

This view that Israelis are "Real people" who should know better while Palestinians are "Mentally incapable retards" who just can't help themselves is just disturbing on so many levels.
Perhaps Im wrong though, Maybe it is someones fault if they make someone hit them. Lets just close women's shelters and tell them "Hey, you shouldn't goad him into striking you so you can play the Charlie Brown card".
Palestinians choose to use their children as living weapons. Israel didn't force any of that to happen, people made the choice because they made a decision (a wrong one in my opinion) that killing Israel was more important than their current batch of children. Its their own choices, they made it, and they are accountable for it.
