What would happen after a digital wipeout?

Here's the scenario, a weird cosmic ray suddenly wipes out all digital information. All the little 0s and 1s would be flushed down the drain... Not a single computer in the world would be functional...

What would happen?

We'ed have to write back and forth in long hand, things would slow down a tad. Are you thinking solar flares, cus I guess that's a distinct possibility. Scarey stuff.

I would demand a refund from my internet services provider. Then I'd drive to Bill Gates house..

We'd do what we always do... adapt. Find ways to repair, get things back up and running, and away we'd go.

yanno Kreskin, this is actually a bone of contention for me. I think when my internet provider goes down for more than a couple hours, or several times in a week, they should prorate our fees accordingly.

oops, off topic... just had to get that off my chest.... carry on...

I've gotten whole weeks refunded Zan, over simply spotty service. You just have to phone and complain.... squeaky wheel gets the grease. Stay at home mom with nothing better to do gets the refund. lol.

I don't think it would much matter. We'd be right back to a barter system.

Personally, I'd be thrilled... because if my bank info's gone, then so's my mortgage. Ha!

We'd be able to get food, just maybe not as we recognize it now. See, because many factories are run by computer, all we'd be able to get are... *gasp*... ingredients.

Trucks would still run. Plants would still grow. Cows would still breed. People would still eat.

I'm afraid there would be riots in the street. People would drag truckers out of their vehicles and beat them silly. Others would rampage commercial districts doing smash n grabs. Buildings would be lit on fire. Entire cities would burn to the ground.

All for the missings 1's and 0's.
