Picked up some news from German TV Broadcaster http://www.tagesschau.de/

As reported Israel struck oiltanks at powerplant in Lebanon,
35 000 ton Heatingfuel spilled into Mediterranian See.
This means the biggest oil desaster ever the Mediterraniean See has seen.
A major environmental disaster at this time; how crasy has mankind become?

Interesting so, no mention on our CBC or even google news yet.
Why are news like these surpressed?

RE: Where is the (canadia

Not a good topic for a hot summerday, I suppose.
Or just tired from news overload.

Here are some more links on this oil spill:

http://news.google.ca/news?q=fuel+oil+tanks+hit+in+lebanon&hl=en&lr=&sa=X&oi=news&ct=title

http://beirut.indymedia.org/ar/2006/07/4803.shtml

http://www.boston.com/news/world/mi...es_spill_from_power_plant_bombed_by_israelis/

http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article5297.shtml

As I stated before this news didn't even find mentioning at any Canadian News I am privileged to access.

Is this a non issue, not worth to talk about?

After all CC "International" would be the right spot to post, or just forget it>>>>>>>>file 13 ?

A letter writer named Nathan had a spot on this on CNN last night and the news team there took a look at it. I thought for a second it might have been an email from the thread's author.

Now in the greater picture of world events this may be just a footnote , but as an indicator about what we don't get to know; that what concerns me.

If we are only fed this and that filtered through some editors mind and their political persuasion, what does that say to developing the fairest opinion and personal position; yours and mine?

We rely on News and Infos , correct and timely, to understand and fit into the global scheme of things .

Foren and the links offered are way more effective than watching
friendly faced News speakers.

Just my thoughts.

Spilled oil is sad,
mangled baby-bodyparts is sadder. Only so much sad will fit in the news paper.

Re: Where is the (canadian) news about oildesaster in Libano

Good catch. This is the kind of news we need to see, so we can make up our minds on supporting Israel or not, and if they are going to spill oil so wrecklessly in their attacks on Hezbolla, it might change our minds

Support for Israel is important for PM Harper, and so the media is doing his bidding by not showing this story.

Also, not showing this story is evidence that we ARE being fed news that suits the views of whomever is most powerfull in the nation. But once we KNOW that the news is slanted, it helps us understand the conspiracy afoot.

This is just not on the news. I watch the news all the time. I only saw one clip on it. Where is this Liberal Media? The shoreline is a nesting ground for a type of sea turtle. It’s a huge environmental disaster. Where is the converage? Not only was the news late to report, it isn’t giving this thing any public awareness. Where is this Liberal Media?

It's a Conservativie media. Every time Isreal commits a crime, Harper looks more like an idiot for supporting them. He has yet to grow a pair of balls.

Re: Where is the (canadian) news about oildesaster in Libano

I could post a seperate thread, but this fits in here as well:

According to some yet unconfirmed reports Sweden has suffered some major incidence on one of their nuclear powerplant.
According to some sources 4 of the ten reaktors have been shut down.
The incident was called unfortunate accident; a major disaster prevented just by a hair.
Again nothing on our local CBC etc.

Got to search for some links or news.
Please add any info to this threads or open new one; didn't see one on this
incident.

The bad news about four more bodybags returning from Afghanistan
is bad news for shure; where will it all end?
