Republicans Still Plan to Cut Welfare Spending

Its frustrating really. These people all know about investing ( well maybe not Georgie boy)...yet don't seem to have the foresight to invest in something that will help prevent them spending a hundred times more in the long run. ( ie ...instead of cuts to the levees, as the core of engineers pointe out. A small expediture could have done so much, to minimize this tragedy.
Making cuts to social programs does nothing to improve economies. In fact it slows them down and widens the gap between the rich & poor. With less people being able to afford to buy any product it increases the potential for layoffs and bankruptcies. Yet Conservatives ( of both countries) can't see the long term ramifications of these types of proposals. It boggles my mind.
