Well, as I remember it, the WTO had given Japan the right to retaliate a long time ago, so this is well within WTO rules, and would even suggest Japan had shown restraint, patience and moderation by waiting until now to exercise this privilege.

the Byrd amendment shows that the U.S. is not an honest broker. They do not abide by the treaties thay sign. Canada had better learn to start trading with other nations. Our government has let us down in so many ways with trade. Way to go Japan. Now let us import rice into your country. or how about fine Canadian beef.
