seems that the quality of the "media" ......"news" has deteriorated substantially. this might be a serious contributing factor to the current "mindset" in the US population.

It might also explain why some are so convinced of their position without seeing the larger scenario....global picture.

Some have postulated theories that the US population is a tad "brain washed" or "conditioned " to believe a certain way.

absolutely. aware of that. But when I compare US "news" with CA news, and UK news on TV for eg. It is amazing sometimes that they are talking about the same issue

ergo ....... have gravitated from TV news almost completely onto online news ......mainly from international sources. Only then one is able to get some "balance"

(where oh where would we be without the internet ?

Make no mistake that internet news can be just as deceptive and biased as any other form. I would say moreso. People post a link to a website that someone is expressing an opinion and can be automatically interpreted as "factual"

Don't think anyone is that naive as to consider everything via the Internet as totally factual. Discerning readers must take the time to some "comparative" research on their own. ---and look for common denominators. The point is the in the information world available now.......the data is there.

Don't think it? I know it. People will link you to a page and consider to be a fact. Maybe not you, or me or anyone on this board. But many. People are too busy in their pre-conceptions to search for common denominators.
