What is that about? It is in France where the French people speak French, in England where the English people speak English, in Germany where the French people speak German, it is in Poland where the Polish people speak Polish. It is in Russia the Russian people speak Russian, in China the Chinese people speak Chinese, in Japan the Japanese people speak Japanese, and it is in the two Koreas where the Korean people speak Korean.

Michael Moore at Cannes this years said after receiving a question from an Australian, that he did not speak Australian. There was a big laugh. It is the same in Canada, Canadians do not speak Canadian, we speak English. In the United States, Americans speak English. In Mexico, Mexicans speak Spanish, in Brazil, Brazilians speak Portuguese. No one in Nigeria or Chad speaks Nigerian or Chadian. Nor do Iraqis speak Iraqi, nor Egyptians speak Egyptian, not Algerians speak Algerian, they speak Arabic. Nor do the people of India or Indonesia speak Indian or Indonesian but a multitude of languages. Austrians do not speak Austrian in Austria, nor do the Swiss speak Swiss in Switzerland.

Only in Europe and Asia are there languages and peoples that are the same name as the nation. So we coudl perhaps say Polish Eurasians and Korean Eurasians. Linguistically there is a pattern on these two continents that lack a noteable physical barrier that has not occured on other continents.

So, what do you think? Is this a word pattern that matters? I think it is.

The name of a language is associated to the name of a country when the spoken language originates from the same country.
The English language originated fro England.
The japaneese language originated for Japan.
In Canada (or part of it :) ) english is a transplanted language from England.
Same could be said for Brazil, Cuba or the U.S. (All transplanted languages)
