Last week President-elect Donald Trump called out Boeing for what he claimed to be an excessive price for two new 747-8s the Air Force has ordered to replace Air Force One. Trump’s tweet followed a comment from Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg calling for a renewed charter for the U.S. Export-Import Bank or face the loss of sales to foreign countries. The President-elect called for elimination of the bank when he was campaigning for office.

In September Boeing received a license from the Treasury Department to sell up to 109 new airplanes to Iran, the 80 included in Sunday’s announcement plus 29 others that Boeing will acquire from leasing companies. That license enables Boeing to assist Iran in lining up U.S. bank financing for the sale.

Will Congressional Republicans push more chips onto the metaphorical poker table? With the inauguration of President-elect Trump just a few weeks away the likely tactic will be to make some noise now but to wait until Trump is safely in office before tackling the Iran deal again.

One thing Sunday’s agreement will do is allow Boeing to add the 80 planes to its order book. That will lift the company’s total sales for the year from 468 to 548, still well short of the company’s goal of a 1:1 book-to-bill ratio. Boeing expects to deliver around 745 to 750 new planes in 2016.

Trump should buy a Russian ride they're built on time and cost half as much and work just as well if not better. Can you imagine the whineing? It would be a very smart diplomatic move. He could buzz over to Russia on it and meet with Putin who could tell him who's what in Washington and London and Tel-Aviv. Putin might keep Trump healthy wealthy and wise and they could split the planet between them.

They're heavily sanctioned, except seventy Boeing airliners, which can carry bombs for Israels destruction , nukyouler bombmbs.

How can that cesspool of islamic/muslim hatred get away with it?

Do it have something todo with money?

Boeing is a major supporter of an extreme Islamic bunch of filthymuslum backstabbers. They weill attack Israel with these Boeings.

Putin knows how to blow things up and Trump is used to starting work when there is just a pile of rubble left. Why wouldn't they get along?

Is Iran paying with funds that are still frozen in the US?

Boeing is probably trying to show Trump they still have a use and the over-runs are because if the Pentegram rather than their lack of ability to get things done on time and on budget. Since it is a 10yr contract there is lots of room for it to fold. Perhpas Iran will then sell them to North Korea or Cuba.

I guess the Dumpster better jump on this before it is too late. Any deal that brings billion of dollars into the US and creates thousands of jobs cannot be allowed to prevail.

My understanding is that the US gov't hasn't signed any contract with Boeing for the new jets, they have a contract for design etc, but there's no commitment to buy them.
