Does anybody actually think the EU guarantees ‘peace and stability’?

The latest ridiculous scaremongering coming from Cameron and the Remain camp is that Britain leaving the EU would cause WWIII.

‘Can we be so sure that peace and stability on our continent are assured beyond any shadow of doubt? Is that a risk worth taking? I would never be so rash as to make that assumption’, Cameron said.

Well nothing is ever assured. But how could anybody still think that peace and stability in Europe are remotely assured by the EU?

From the Middle East to Russia, the EU has proved a growing menace to world peace.

Of course if David Cameron really did believe that Brexit could lead to World War III then it was jolly silly of him to put it to a vote...

According to David Cameron this morning, if Britain votes to ‘Leave’ the EU on 23 June, the Germans will invade Belgium, the Russians will invade Crimea (again), and we’ll all have to spend the coming years re-learning the finer details of the Schleswig-Holstein question.

The Prime Minister’s latest attempt to warn of apocalypse in the case of Brexit has one huge flaw. In his latest scare-speech this morning he said:
‘Can we be so sure that peace and stability on our continent are assured beyond any shadow of doubt? Is that a risk worth taking? I would never be so rash as to make that assumption.’
Well nothing is ever assured. But how could anybody still think that peace and stability in Europe are remotely assured by the EU? From the Middle East to Russia, the EU has proved a growing menace to world peace. It was able to do nothing to prevent Russian expansion into Ukraine – indeed it significantly helped to provoke it. And if anybody thinks that the EU promotes peace elsewhere it should consider, for instance, its funding of illegal settlements in the West Bank.

But perhaps Cameron is thinking of events closer to home. With its insistence on currency union and the eradication of borders, here are some of the peaceful things that EU membership has brought everybody in recent years.

Here is how the Greek people now react when Angela Merkel visits Athens:

Here is the EU’s idea of managed migration:

This is how some migrants in Sweden expressed their gratitude to the EU for letting them in:

Here is how some Swedes responded to the EU’s policy:

Here is one of the less sexually-graphic photos of what the EU now considers a typical night out in Cologne:

Here is a photograph of Khalid el-Bakraoui, the suicide bomber who the EU allowed into Europe and who responded by killing 20 people right by the European Commission’s headquarters in March:

Oh, and here is a photograph of the Turkish leader whose country David Cameron has promised to bring into the EU if Britain votes ‘Remain’:

Of course if David Cameron really did believe that Brexit could lead to World War III then it was jolly silly of him to put it to a vote. As I have argued here before, the thing most likely to destabilise and destroy the continent in the years ahead is the EU, and in particular its lunatic open-borders policy. The only way to oppose that is to vote ‘Leave’. Otherwise – to reply to the PM in kind – there isn’t another tube-stop between here and Armageddon.

I guess the threat of being excluded from European soccer tourneys wasn't enough so Cameron himself has decided to up the ante. What a putz.

Most people know anyway that you don't have to be in the EU to have teams competing in the club and international European football tournaments

And the headquarters of UEFA itself are in Switzerland, a country which isn't in the EU.

Is there anyone at all who thinks the purpose of the EU is peace and stability? it's for trade, economics, and ease of commerce.
Well, that was its intended purpose but it has become a de facto political bloc with edicts issued by unelected "representatives". Hence the faux concern of war if Britain PUFOs.

No, it isn't. That's what its leaders tell us all. It's TRUE purpose is the annexation of Europe's nation states, the erosion of their sovereignty and democracy, and become an undemocratic, totalitarian superstate.
