Anyone following the news the last few years (i know rare) know that these guys are in full Rampage Mode in northern Nigeria, and are growing like a tumor.....

They went from a bunch of nobodies to a well trained and heavily armored force to be reckoned with in a short time...

Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa, with a army of over 100,000+, and yet they continue to blunder the situation through a mixture of pride and mis-management of resources.

When will Nigeria let the rest of the world in?

Are we seeing the start of a 2nd Rwanda?

Or are we seeing something similar to ISIS forming in Africa, are they going to be manageable in the future? Everyone knows how much work ISIS has been.

Like I'm sure we the west have a few fancy duct fan UAV'S monitoring these guys on the periphery. And i'm also sure Boko Haram have shot a few hiding in the trees. But at this point ain't no cruise missles going to dislodge these guerrilla fighters.

Right in front of the world these guys became heavyweights and they are. Remember the big "Crimeria fiasco in the Ukraine"? Yea its over but these guys are still out there in front of the world taking human rights violations to almost the max. Unchecked

Boko Haram honour the same black flag as ISIS. They are an Islamic fundamentatlist group. They are equal in barbarism as ISIS, and love the free world just as much. The world powers should be taking care of BH with the same urgency as they are ISIS.

Nigeria's army has captured a key Boko Haram camp, the Islamist militant group's last enclave in the vast Sambisa forest that was its stronghold, President Muhammadu Buhari said on Saturday.

Boko Haram has killed 15,000 people and displaced more than two million during a seven-year insurgency to create an Islamic state governed by a strict interpretation of sharia law in the northeast of Africa's most populous nation.

The group controlled an area about the size of Belgium in early 2015 but has been pushed out of most of that territory over the last year by Nigeria's army and troops from neighboring countries, shifting to a base in the Sambisa, a former colonial game reserve.

"I was told by the Chief of Army Staff that the camp fell at about 1:35 pm on Friday, December 23, and that the terrorists are on the run, and no longer have a place to hide," Buhari said in a statement.

Reuters was unable to independently verify whether the base in Nigeria's Borno state, known as Camp Zero, had been taken by the army.

Buhari said the capture of Camp Zero marked the "final crushing of Boko Haram terrorists in their last enclave in Sambisa forest".

Army spokesman Sani Usman said the military was "happy and proud of the accomplished task" without giving further details.

Nigeria's military has been conducting an offensive in the forest during the last few weeks. Officials said in recent days that insurgents were fleeing into surrounding areas, warning residents to be vigilant.

Despite having been pushed back to the Sambisa forest, Boko Haram still stages suicide bombings in northeasteran areas and in neighboring Niger and Cameroon.

Ryan Cummings, director of Africa-focused risk management company Signal Risk, said it was unlikely that the entire insurgency was being coordinated from the Sambisa.

Boko Haram pledged allegiance to Islamic State (IS) last year but signs of a rift emerged in August after IS announced a new leader, Abu Musab al-Barnawi.

Boko Haram's hitherto leader Abubakar Shekau later appeared to contradict the appointment in a video message. Analysts say Shekau's faction is based in the Sambisa while al-Barnawi's group operates in the Lake Chad area.

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria — Nigeria’s government is acknowledging that 110 girls remain missing nearly a week after Boko Haram militants attacked a town.
The fate of the girls is not known, but witnesses say the Islamic extremists specifically asked where the girls’ school was located. Some eyewitnesses reporting seeing young women taken away at gunpoint.
Information Minister Lai Mohammed made the announcement about the girls still being missing Sunday after meetings were held with family members and others.
Many Nigerians fear they were abducted as brides for the Boko Haram extremists, who in 2014 kidnapped 276 girls from a boarding school in Chibok and forced them to marry their captors.
About 100 of the Chibok girls have never returned to their families nearly four years later.

There's a black guy in work called Rafiu "Raf" Salau. He's from Lagos in Nigeria. Another black guy in work, called Mutaro Jalo, is from Guinea-Bissau and Mutaro - or "Monty" as we call him - likes to joke to Raf that Raf is a member of Boko Haram.

Britain and the rest of Europe have been hit by freezing temperatures and snow and ice this week and the warehouse that we work in is freezing. Raf (a man-up truck driver like me) has been coming to work with a sort of black hood thing around his head to keep warm, and people have been jokingly calling him Gregory Porter, as he looks just like him with that thing on.
