in case you hadn't heard about the good news yet:

Putin knows he needs to get this kind of thing done now while we still have a wimp for a President.
Check it out:

In a show of military muscle amid tensions with the West, Russia will send long-range strategic bombers on regular patrol missions across the globe, from the Arctic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico, a top official said Wednesday.

The announcement by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu came as NATO’s chief accused Russia of sending fresh troops and tanks into eastern Ukraine.

“Over the last few days, we have seen multiple reports of large convoys moving into Eastern Ukraine,” said NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. “We assess that this significant military buildup includes Russian artillery, tanks, air defence systems and troops. His statement called the situation a “severe threat to the cease-fire.”

Moscow denied the allegation as unfounded, but Shoigu also said the dispute with the West over Ukraine would require Russia to beef up its forces in the Crimea, the Black Sea Peninsula that Russia annexed in March.

Shoigu said Russian long-range bombers will conduct flights along Russian borders and over the Arctic Ocean. He said, “In the current situation we have to maintain military presence in the western Atlantic and eastern Pacific, as well as the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico.”

You're absolutely correct. How dare the USA just stand by and watch Russia bankrupt itself!?

If Russia will spend itself into bankruptcy, quick, we must follow suit!

The Ruskies are talking about setting up a military base in Nicaragua but they're a year late-the Chinese bought the place last year when they paid for the new canal.

Then build another one. BUILD BUILD BUILD!

There is only so much oligarch money Putin can seize.

Never stop an enemy when he's making a mistake.

Hey guys, Putin and much of the rest of the world are following the blood trail of a fatally wounded western system. The helpless often laugh nervously just before the end. The F-35 program is a fractal of the whole western world. It just barely works when it ain't raining.

Perhaps the 'mission' was oil related in connection with deals being inked with Cuba and Venezuela. I think the one with cuba involved composites as the 80deg water temp made for a constant warm temp as easy as sticking a hose in the GOM. The 'bombers' would be flying a grid with the military equivalent to what ground based 'gravity-testers' do on a seismic exploration.

If you are looking at base buildups in the area the US has an island just north of Veneseula that is now leased from France as a US Military base. Is that the kind of 'threat'? Russia will build the composites there, ship them back to Russia where drone production will now be pennies on the dollar compared to curing composites in Siberia. Cuba is already heavily involved in producing Doctors, perhaps this new funding will see them expand into phage medicine now that vaccines either don't work or are so expensive onlt 1% can afford them. Nor would the 1% be all that happy to learn that the 'cure' was so cheap one family could cure the village for the same price they cure themselves.

I'm pretty sure with the ice covering the ports in the north that Russia had discovered it hardly hampers subs and what they do best, sneak up on places where the reflex time is down to less than 1 minute and the stuff coming from space will be the 2nd and 3rd waves.

I doubt Cuba is looking for more patients, the US can't let anybody do better without 'their help'. Considering that Cuba was a sin-bin for what was illegal on american soil it's loss should have been welcomed like the loss of slavery. Wait, that is just how it was greeted.

I'm pretty sure that 'radar' based on finding 'holes' in the cosmic background radiation' had more to do with the end of stealth than something new in the F-35 program. It's advantage is a $3 chip can be disabled and the fleet is parked should 'rebels acquire said craft'.

Two vehicles left idling on a cold winter night, one is the latest Land-Rover and the other is OJ's Bronco. Who is going to get across country first? For what it does it probably does it like a Caddy, but the repairs are also in that price range and one pilot in one plane should be able to have the other ones flying with him have them do what is done by his remote control.

Putin is just trying to win political points at home like any other politician. Short term politicalgain. Just wait till interest builds up on regular debt payments and they have to start raising taxes.

That's what brought down the Soviet Union. Figure it'll put a hitch in Mr. Putin's git-along too.

The guy has practically mastered the Russian political system.

Yup. The 'best' politicians know how to make things look good during their mandate and leave the mess for the future. Putin is among the best. He'll borrow Russia's way to prosperity to his political advantage and leave the debt to his successor.

While enthusiasm for ones country is a nice thing it's not a substitute for substance. The US is already in default on it's debt which it cannot possibly pay as that would require the total US GDP for 700 straight years. They ain't going to wait that long sunshine. The single out is total war on a global basis, and that is a very long shot indeed. In about eighteen months, they say, the game will be on in such a way as to be obvious and undeniable. Of course a wild card could materialize, the alien invasion, Jesus hisself or a interstellar blackhole sucking the entire planet away. There's no tin hat ever made can hide the numbers.

The Russian debt.

And how much is the Russian debt?
