You are all potential terrorists. It matters not that you live in Britain, the United States, Australia or the Middle East. Citizenship is effectively abolished. Turn on your computer and the US Department of Homeland Security’s National Operations Center may monitor whether you are typing not merely "al-Qaeda", but "exercise", "drill", "wave", "initiative" and "organisation": all proscribed words. The British government’s announcement that it intends to spy on every email and phone call is old hat. The satellite vacuum cleaner known as Echelon has been doing this for years. What has changed is that a state of permanent war has been launched by the United States and a police state is consuming western democracy.
What are you going to do about it?
In Britain, on instructions from the CIA, secret courts are to deal with "terror suspects". Habeas Corpus is dying. The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that five men, including three British citizens, can be extradited to the US even though none except one has been charged with a crime. All have been imprisoned for years under the 2003 US/UK Extradition Treaty which was signed one month after the criminal invasion of Iraq. The European Court had condemned the treaty as likely to lead to "cruel and unusual punishment". One of the men, Babar Ahmad, was awarded 63,000 pounds compensation for 73 recorded injuries he sustained in the custody of the Metropolitan Police. Sexual abuse, the signature of fascism, was high on the list. Another man is a schizophrenic who has suffered a complete mental collapse and is in Broadmoor secure hospital; another is a suicide risk. To the Land of the Free, they go -- along with young Richard O’Dwyer, who faces 10 years in shackles and an orange jump suit because he allegedly infringed US copyright on the internet.

Isn't this what some of us have been saying.?? Maybe in different terms......the essence the same. This is not out of some perverse paranoia.....but out of realizing the new reality. Fortunately some of us will be long gone to see how this pans out. But given the trajectory things are on........it can't be good. The coming generations are growing up in a completely different atmosphere and developing a different mindset as a result of all this . Fear , that almighty tool , that politicians can manipulate anyway they want to achieve whatever political goals they have as they related to control, power and more power.

How can anyone claim to be free , when under the cloud of constant & various fear levels?? The most devestating kind of "imprisonment" is that of psychological nature. and fear is the biggest componant of this dynamic. Be it fear of terrorists, communists. the Al Quada , your garden variety ;bullies, or the new "regulations" being put in place that reinforce the fear factor. Yet....it is obvious that folks are totally helpless to do anything about it now. Speak out: and you are labelled a terrorist sympathize, or a terrorist lover. or some other stupid catch phrase that has evolved as part of this bullying . The truth has no value.......and no one wants to hear it. let alone face it. It is too frightening. What is so concerning is that all this is taking place in front of our eyes and yet we can't see any of it....until one says or does something that can be twisted into a terrorist act, or even anti american (another silliness that has evolved since the world began to truly realize that the US is not what it claims to be ) Facts are facts. But simple minds are at work when labels are so easily bandied about. they honestly do not know any better. As they are discouraged from questioning and THINKING...,

The article has a great deal of validity to it.(IMO) The issue I have is that it did not take it much further and cover more componants that are part of this dynamic. But would like to see folks present valid arguements against /or in agreement ... as the case might be.........without sliding into OT material. thanks everyone. Have a good one.

American And Iraqi Soldiers


A squad of American soldiers was patrolling along the Iraqi border. To their surprise, they found the badly mangled dead body of an Iraqi soldier in a ditch along the road. A short distance up the road, they found a badly mangled American soldier in a ditch on the other side of the road, who was still barely alive.

Wind up a spring too tight and it snaps. The ones making all these laws better consider what the peasants will do if they revolt for no damn good reason. They may insist that the 'imposers' agree to be ruled by their own laws. If that means being under a microscope while on duty then so be it, I don't have an issue with that measure. Better siltation than the guy in the photo



I still think if 'citizens' were ruled to be terrorists they should turn themselves in, starting with the homeless as at least they would be getting some shelter, before the unemployed were 'in custody' the system would have been overloaded. Prisons were meant to grab people as they were trying to get away, it was not designed to operate when many are trying to get in so it would be 'standing room only'.

I can't see any Government staying popular if they just starved these 'new prisoners'.
