China will expedite the delivery of 50 Chengdu/Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) JF-17 Thunder aircraft production kits to Pakistan, part of Islamabad's 150 firm orders for the single-engined fighter.

The Pakistan air force has confirmed the expedited delivery but declined to comment on the specific timing, or when the new aircraft will become operational. However, media reports have suggested that Pakistan hopes to receive the kits within the next six months.

The air force said that 30 JF-17s are now operational, up from 18 in early March. It also confirmed that it has firm orders for 150 of the type. This is 100 more than in November, when the China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation said Pakistan had signed for 50. The JF-17 is 52% produced by the PAC.

Pakistan hopes to buy up to a total of 200 JF-17s to replace a number of types, such as the Chengdu F-7, Dassault Mirage III and Mirage 5, and the Nanchang A-5, the last of which was decommissioned in April.

Pakistani and international media have reported that the expedited JF-17 delivery was arranged by Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf
Raza Gilani during a visit to China, Pakistan's partner in the JF-17 programme.

Gilani's visit came after a 2 May raid by US Special Forces that killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. The USA did not inform Pakistan of the raid, and the inability of Pakistan's military to detect the incursion raised questions in Islamabad about preparedness.

Just in time for the war with Pakistan to begin full scale.

China has been playing the rest of the world for fools the last few decades.

The west really needs to wake up and change their ways.

China 'Asks USA To Respect Pak Sovereignty'

By Press Trust of India

May 19, 2011 "The Statesman" -- ISLAMABAD, 19 MAY: In the wake of the US raid in Abbottabad that killed Osama bin Laden, China has “warned in unequivocal terms that any attack on Pakistan would be construed as an attack on China”, a media report claimed today.

The warning was formally conveyed by the Chinese foreign minister at last week's China-US strategic dialogue and economic talks in Washington, The News daily quoted diplomatic sources as saying. China also advised the USA to “respect Pakistan's sovereignty and solidarity”, the report said.

Chinese Premier Mr Wen Jiabao informed his Pakistani counterpart Mr Yousuf Raza Gilani about the matters taken up with the US during their formal talks at the Great Hall of the People yesterday. The report said China “warned in unequivocal terms that any attack on Pakistan would be construed as an attack on China”. The two premiers held a 45-minute one-on-one meeting before beginning talks with their delegations.
The Chinese leadership was “extremely forthcoming in assuring its unprecedented support to Pakistan for its national cause and security” and discussed all subjects of mutual interest with Mr Gilani, the report said. Mr Gilani described Pakistan-China relations and friendship as “unique”.

Talking to Pakistani journalists accompanying him, he said that China had acknowledged his country's contribution and sacrifices in the war against terrorism and supported its cause at the international level. “China supported Pakistan's cause on its own accord,” Mr Gilani said with reference to the Sino-US strategic dialogue where the Chinese told the US that Pakistan should be helped and its national honour respected. Mr Gilani said

China had asked the US to improve its relations with Pakistan, keeping in view the present scenario.

Pakistan reiterated its position on the one-China policy and said it fully supported China on the issues of Taiwan and Tibet, he said. He said both sides will continue their consultations on UN reforms. It was also agreed that both countries will formulate a long-term joint energy mechanism for electricity generation in Pakistan through various means, including nuclear energy.

Mr Wen announced that the Chinese leadership will send a special envoy to Islamabad to express solidarity with Pakistan at this “crucial period in its history”. The envoy, a senior minister, will take part in celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The USA has stepped up pressure on Pakistan to crack down on terrorist sanctuaries and to probe whether military and intelligence officials were aware that bin Laden had been hiding in the garrison city of Abbottabad, which is home to thousands of soldiers.

Pakistan has turned to China, its “all weather friend”, for support in the face of reports that US lawmakers are pressing for cuts in aid. China has agreed to provide Pakistan 50 new JF-17 Thunder multi-role jets under a co-production agreement, The News reported. It is likely that these planes will be supplied by June next year.

The two countries are also discussing the supply of Chinese J-20 stealth jets and Xiaolong/FC-1 multi-purpose light fighter aircraft to Pakistan. They are discussing the mode of payment and the number of planes to be provided to Pakistan, the report said. China will also launch a satellite for Pakistan on 14 August.

The satellite will supply “multifarious data” to Pakistan, the report said. Mr Gilani said both sides had agreed to increase defence cooperation and China had assured Pakistan of help in enhancing the capacity of its armed forces.

He said Pakistan's trade with China had registered a significant increase in the last two years and efforts were being made to raise it to US$ 15 billion a year.

Mr Gilani said Pakistan has the capability and capacity to defend its frontiers and the armed forces are fully vigilant, and no incident like the US raid against bin Laden will happen in future. He said Pakistan will continue its efforts to stop US drone attacks, which have proved to be counter-productive.

To a question, Mr Gilani said Pakistan's political and military leadership will decide about a military operation in North Waziristan agency. No pressure will be accepted in this regard and Pakistan alone will decide on this issue, he said. Mr Gilani said Pakistan desired good relations with all its neighbours, including India, Afghanistan and Iran.

In my opinion Pakistans inability to contain and deal with insurgencies (let alone keep tabs on american activity) in their country has more to do with the quality of training and discipline than with what kind of technology they are using....

China 'Asks USA To Respect Pak Sovereignty'

The magic formula for global terrorism is complete.

Step 1: Commit an isolated attack on the U.S.
Step 2: Hide somewhere in Pakistan
Step 3: Watch the U.S. spend trillions trying to get to you

BONUS: Enjoy international vilification of the U.S. at their own expense once they decide to piss off Pakistan to find you.

You're kidding right? Since when does the mainstream do real news? Especially a frighteningly real reality show like this one that if publicized could possibly prevent a very profitable war for a planet.
Yeah. China and Russia are going to make a killing off of this if the Yanks don't put their steel penises back in their pants.

First of all the United States should make it clear to Pakistan that if they continue to support
Taliban or other terrorist groups all aid money will be cut immediately including humanitarian
aid. The other target is the military in Egypt, if they do not back off from their mini reign of
terror, aid will be reduced strategically.
What these people seem to understand is deceit and force so oblige them. If they don't conform
bomb them. (put tongue in cheek here)

They jut got 50 yes 50 FREE jets from China and all they aid they need. US ****ed up once again and it's pissing off their owners.

How much are we paying for our jets? The US ****s us over all the time. I want free ones too.

When you read healines like: China Gives Pakistan 50 Fighter Jets on the cover of the NYT, it would appear they don't need our measly little offerings of a bag or two of rice and IMF loans at interest in exchange for allowing 500 drones to buzz around their country bombing at will taking out civilians and the CIA pulling Black Ops in Karachi to create unstability.

I wonder, if we harbored terrorists for ten years or so, would China give us jets after the US stormed in and killed the terrorists?

No, because they are competing with the U.S. At this time, since the U.S. is still the greater hegemony, every measure of "aid" will have a countermeasure that would benefit their state. Like, for instance, helping the U.S. pay off their debt.

The beauty of the Osama deal is that China had no responsibility to help snuff him out - and wisely didn't pursue that avenue to begin with. But they also smartly jumped on the opportunity to weaken the American hegemony by using the political disruption of Pakistan to their benefit.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pakistan now sells most these jets to whomever the highest bidder is. It's bad for the U.S. if another country gets those jets. It's doubly bad for the U.S. if they have to cough up muchos dineros to keep their military-industry going as they spiral further into economic decline. Either way, Pakistan becomes less dependent on the U.S. and a stronger ally with China - and we can begin the game of 'hide the terrorist' all over again.

All of this because the U.S. continues to stubbornly advance their hegemony through military action.

I disagree. Not that Pakistan might hold onto them, but that the U.S. would be foolish enough to enter a large scale military campaign.

I think we're moving away from international conflict and sticking with dog and pony show of the arms race. As much as Obama has disappointed many who wanted him to scale back on foreign intervention, he is still a Democrat. Most Republicans in office would truly exercise their lust for blood by now.

Obama's records beats Bush 1 and 2 combined. China wouldn't have to fire a shot to forever cripple the US. They can do it monetarily and industrially.

Firstly there is no hope whatever that the USA will survive at the top of the heap they will be gutted, stripped of portable wealth and left to die by the millions in their once prosperous streets. They are bankrupted by massive long running fraud and treason. These crimes will be buried under the rubble same as 9/11 accomplished. AIPAC #1 enemy of humanity owns the USA congress lock stock and barrel. The world has never seen a more loathsome collection of cowards and scumbags as exist in one body known as the US congress, a wholly owned and operated Israeli crime insturment. Canada has everything to fear from the same rotten pseudo theocratic scum. Israels survival depends directly on the instigation of full spectrum domination using the tried and true employment of compromised indebted proxies. Nothing and no one will be spared to ensure the continued rape of mankind by the Israeli murder machine.

That large culminating conflict has been assembled for many decades now. There is zero chance that it will not take place and there is zero chance that it will not be the spectacular butchery that it promises to be. Think of the third side of the coin. Those who do never loose a bet.
