1. No. It gives me a headache and makes me groggy.
2. Yes, more than a few.
3. Don't know, don't care. Just don't blow your smoke at me, whatever you're smoking.
4. Yes, and taxed as highly as alcohol and tobacco.
5. Yes, as they do alcohol and tobacco.

Um, what do you mean the gov't controls the quantity of tobacco and alcohol? Since when? I've seen people that smoked as much as 5 packs a day. I've seen people load up with 10 cartons of smokes at a time. Same thing with alcohol. My cousin's daughter got married and my cousin had 200 cases of beer and a dozen or so cases of each type of hard stuff delivered to the reception.

I am referring to the governmental controls i.e. regulations of alcoholic content of liquor and the nicotine/tar/benzene etc. content of cigarettes. I assumed (perhaps mistakenly,) that the OP was referring to THC strength when he/she wrote of controlling the quantity of marijuana.

Why is Marijuana illegal in the first place?
Because it not addictive, grows wild, competes with pharmaceutical companies as a medicinal herb, makes superior medicine, paper, cloth, plastic and food than any pharmaceutical drug, wood pulp, synthetic, petroleum or natural oil. Check out the history of Hemp and its demonization by people like Dupont and Hearst publishing. The people who control the hard drug trade do not want it made legal because it would cut into their profits. The US government relies on the drug trade to finance their dirty little wars all over the planet. Check out the history of the CIA and US Foreign Policy. Follow the money. Take a look at Air America and the the Olly North stories and you will begin to understand the situation concerning pot. It has nothing to do with whether or not pot is harmful or not.

The difference between alcohol and weed is you can drink without getting drunk but can't really smoke pot without getting stoned.

Never mind Marijuana, ban the S.O.B.s that produce, import or sell any illegal drugs. I have nothing particular against Marijuana, but I'm still waiting proof of its benefit to the average healthy person.

I live in B.C. We only recognize laws we believe in and that isn't one of them.
The BC government just expanded it's Lottery into online gambling under the excuse that people do it anyway so we might as well get some of the loot. I figure the same logic holds true for pot as well.

I think (against my better judgment) I have to agree with you here. I love gambling and casinos and detest street drugs, but I suppose one can be just as devastating as the other. I think with gambling however, some personal control is possible, I'm not sure if it is with drugs- for the vast majority I would guess not.
