Are your children homosexual or lesbian?

Are you the parent/s of homosexual or lesbian children? How do you feel about having gay children, does it effect your daily life? Could a parent be to blame or are our children born to it.

What are your thoughts? Are your children victimised, are you as the parent victimised?

I personally don't have gay or lesbian children but if I did it wouldn't bother me as much as it would bother their father or society in general. Why is this? Should we not be more concerned about their happiness rather than their sexual preference?

Would love other members thoughts on such a delicate topic as it can be sometimes

Mothers and fathers have different sets of expectations of their children. Mothers are more inclined to want their children to be happy, men want their children to more successful than they were. (generalizations, I know, but what can you do is a small space?)

I'm straight, wifey is bi. One straight kid (oldest) and one that experiments. I'm happy if the wifey and kids are. Mum-in-law is the cranky one. She's a dear but she's Irish Catholic. Dad-in-law is cool. My Mum is either ignorant about everything or won't say anything. Not going to push it. Sis-in-law was gay, tried bi, had kid (Nathan is straight), went back to gay.

My kids are growing, so, I can't make assumptions about their sexuality. But,the human psyche is rarely so simple as to be able to pinpoint one isolated 'cause' for something as deeply seated as sexuality.

Definitely not. IMO, sexuality is both a result of genetics and environment.

Environment? As in society Les? I agree to a certain extent... So you as a Dad are fairly liberal and have no problem with it ? No shame? No guilt?

Environment, as in choice, conditioning, culture, etc.
We have a couple of very good girls who have made us proud of them. No shame. No guilt because to us homosexuality is natural. It's none of anyone else's business anyway what people are like in private, if it came to the crux of the matter. Dad-in-law is cool about the whole thing because, as a full-blooded native, anything that happens in nature is natural and nothing can change that so there's no point in getting uptight. lol I think he has a point there.

well, we were friends before i started dating his sister, and i never felt like he was attracted to me. he's not a stereotypical gay man, so i never thought much about his sexuality. mind you we used to talk about who we wanted to shag, and what not (before dating his sister!). i'm not worried about being sexually assaulted by women, so why would i be worried about guys? it's not like being gay makes you more likely to act like a jerk.

I can feel sexually attracted to a person of the opposite sex if I truly love her, otherwise I feel little sexual attraction for anyone.

Oh, I thought we were having a grade three smack talk fest.

"Takes one to know one!"

"I'm rubber, you're glue, bounces of me and sticks to you!"

"I'm telling!!!!"

"My dad could totally beat your dad up!"

"Ew, Timmy's picking his nose again!!!!"

No, I think it's that, if your child comes out to you as gay, it means YOU'RE gay too Gilbert. In other words, you're totally bi right now and don't even know it. Cool.
