Wow I haven`t been here in a while.

So, what is your favourite song and why.

I`ll start.....duh.....

Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler. Why - reminds me of having my mom in my early years before my parents divorced and then not seeing her for 14 years.

Ring of Fire either by the late great Johny Cash or the remake by Social Distortion.
(I should qualify that although Johny sang it, it was written by June Carter (not yet Cash).)

It's just a great song.

Meeshee interesting ...gonna have to think of that situation next time I listen to that Fab tune.
Doug the first time I went to a karioke bar I thought the machine made every one sound good. I thought I read somewhere something about that. The few people that were useing the thing sounded awesome. I was viewing that tune written by June Carter and thought cool!
only problem....
I CAN"T SING!!! In grade 4 Mother saint Michael asked me to draw during singing class...no ****...

So here's my big debut! I get up and suddenly realize also ...i always shake during public speaking.......So I figure the machine will aid me and I start in on ring of fire.....NightFrigginMare....nuff said.

Gimme sisters of mercy by Leonard Cohen any day I'm feeling blue and let me drift off into happy land

When I was young and my mom was around and actually CARED, she would always play it for me and twirl me around or braid my hair. Even though today I greatly dislike her, I still think of those cherished times.

You guys probably don't know this one. It was the title song from Kathy Mattea's "Love Travels" CD

So I stand here and gaze across the ocean
knowin' that I may not ever hold you
quite the way I told you
But the distance won't silence my devotion
'cause I believe there is still a way to reach out
In my heart there's no doubt
Love travels the miles upon the wings of angels
Love finds you, I swear its true
I can love you from here - I'll love you from here.
So I gaze at the photograph before me
wonderin' if you still believe I love you
I did what I had to do
Then I look and I swear I saw you smilin'
Well heaven makes these tender hearts the strongest
Mine beats for you as long as
Love travels the miles upon the wings of angels
Love finds you, I swear its true
I can love you from here
On moonbeams, on heartstrings
Love makes its way through anything
Love finds you, I swear it's true
I will always be near, I'll love you from here
Well time will never change me
You just gotta believe
and the dream that saves me
is that you're happy and you're free
It'll fly through the air with the greatest of ease
As much as you want, now, as much as you need
across every mountain and all seven seas
The eagles'll carry it on God's gentle breeze
And I'll never give up (Never give up)
I'll never give in (Never give in)
And you'll know that it's me when you hear the voice singin'
Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai
Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai
Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai
Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Lai Sing it (Sing it) Sing it (Sing it)
Love travels the miles upon the wings of angels
Love finds you, I swear its true
I can love you from here
On moonbeams, on heartstrings
Love makes its way through anything
Love finds you, I swear it's true
I will always be near, I'll love you from here.

lolll Kreskin. Apparently music is in the ear of the beholder.

personally, I could never pick a favourite... it's completely dependent on my mood.

It brings tears to my eyes. I listen to it all the time on my Sony 8-track walkman.
