Sworn in: Tomorrow Uniform

Now, I got sworn in to the military just last week and now tomorrow I get to go to pick up my uniform tomorrow.

I have to get up at 7 a.m. to drive down to pick up all this gear and such.

And then I will be in the military.

The military has already started talking about me joining Special Forces.

You sure spend an awful lot of time online for someone in the military.

Agreed but you wouldn't hear a pep out of me this weekend.

Can't tell you what I am about to this weekend, I can't discuss it unless I talk to my security officer, however, I can say it will be from Friday Night to Sunday Morning.

Ya, been there done that. Couldn't talk about it. I ended up doing the 2 to 4am, guarding an empty shed in the middle of nowhere.

All I know is that it will be wet. Hopefully I wouldn't have to stay up too late but it is a possibility.

I'm back after ten hours of getting my uniform, getting an identity card and getting blood extracted.

I now have a knife and a helmet and on the weekend I get my flak-vest.

well, at least you don't pay for it.

On an esoteric note: are you in a scottish regiment?

Nope!

That's this summer.

Even though the basic training commander for this summer operates right out of my base. So I talk to him all the time about what is going to happen on Basic.

Can't wait till after when I get to drive up and down the mountains and highway on Vancouver Island.

So just to anyone on Vancouver Island, during Christmas break watch out for a green truck.

No.

I am in the Communication, but once my baby sister, gets the handle of taking care of herself in the Communication Unit.

I am either going to the Scottish or the Artillery and heading overseas. With the U.N hopefully.

well then, you will learn the truth of regimental style.

The fellows i knew in a scottish regiment were a tad quirky about their kilts. Real exhibitionists perhaps. They rather enjoyed a challenge to what was under the kilt. (and you don't want to know what stories tell of what happened to those who dared to wear anything beneath the kilt).

I am glad.

To bad I had to shave off all my facial fuzz and hair.

However, I couldn't let my baby sister join the military without me to protect her.

Sister not sitter.

Besides, all my baby sitters were mean to me when I was a kid.

Just to help you out Jersay, if you meet the physical and IQ req's for Special Forces, the only qualifications you need to try out are 2 years in the Reg/3 years Reserve, and to be trade qualified.

Congratulations, Jersay. Have a good time at Borden, or wherever you army types do your basic.

Oh right, sister, ya I have of two of those, they are 30 and 31 and I still look out for them.

Back to the babysitter thing, I asked for one when I was 16 :P

And congrats on your oath, make your countrymen proud.

They said two years in reserve? But three/two doesn't really make a real difference.

Thanks, but back to babysitter, the last one I had chased me around with a broom.

The only thing I remember about my old babysitter was that she got in trouble for eating like three boxes of Golden Grahams.

A selective memory, I know. :P

Hehe. Yeah. She ate like three boxes and apparently tried to hide the evidence by cutting up the boxes and putting the cut-up pieces in a garbage bag in the garage. She apparently also stole a ring and some candles according to my mother but I was little, and I like Golden Grahams, so that's the only part I remember. lol

Well, if she stole a ring I guess she should have been arrested.

But stealing Golden Grahams is the most heinous crime imaginable.

And three boxes?
