I saw this somewhere else and thought I'd post it here to see what everyone's favourite city was, and to be fair, just list the continent as a poll option just so we have a general consensus on the geographical location :)

My fav. place would be a toss-up between Montreal and Berlin... but that doesn't discount the great times I've had elsewhere, just that these places are young and hip and it's impossible not to have a good time -- especially when you meet the right people.

Most cities elsewhere in North America such as Miami, New York, Phoenix, Toronto or Vancouver just weren't happening enough (or had the right vibe) for me. Just my opinion.

San Francisco and Vancouver.

But that might change as I plan on going to Montreal next spring or early summer.(May or June) I have been planning and saving up (2 years) for that trip. I plan on going with VIA Rail (thats why I have to save up, train travel is not cheap and I hate flying ) I intend to go for 3 weeks. Plus I will see other areas of Quebec as well.

I have heard so much about Montreal from culture to the ladies and I want to see first hand. I want to check out the Casino's and Blue Bonnets as well.

I was in the RCAF about a hundred years ago and I spent three and a half years in Germany, near a lovely little city right in the Black forest, called Baden Baden. I loved the place. I almost picked Baden Baden.

My favourite city is our nation's capital, Ottawa. Compared with other major cities in Canada, it is smallish but with the Rideau canal (sp) and the parliament buildings and four distinct seasons it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

I am not much of a world traveller ... a bit of the US and Mexico, but I gotta go with Dorothy and Toto on this one ... there's no place like home. I've lived all over B.C. (moved 18 times in 2 years in my hey day!) but Victoria is far and away the best place I've ever lived. No matter where I wander, I always call my little place on the Rock home.

#1, check that VIA route if you plan on seeing other parts of Quebec. When I took the train from NS to ON we dipped down into Maine then came up into Montreal.

But for me I love Montreal. I want to go back soon.
