The sound of settled science by your intellectual and moral superiors.

A philosophy journal that focuses on the teachings of philosopher Alain Badiou has apparently fallen victim to yet another Sokal hoax, and has retracted a fake article submitted by authors trying to expose the publication’s weaknesses. The paper, “Ontology, Neutrality and the Strive for (non-)Being-Queer,” attributed to Benedetta Tripodi of the Universitatea Alexandru Ioan Cuza in Romania, is apparently the work of two academics, who submitted the absurd article to Badiou Studies to expose its lack of rigor in accepting papers.

Just a quick look at some of the text of the fake paper exposes its peculiarities. Here are the first few lines of the abstract:

If, as seems increasingly likely, the _____________ advice on which we have relied for ____ years was profoundly flawed, this is not a mistake that can be laid at the door of corporate ogres. Nor can it be passed off as innocuous scientific error. It suggests instead that this is something the __________ists did to themselves - and, consequently, to us.

Any enterprise dangling with money, prospects and utility ultimately ends up in the control of the incorporated. When coporations insist they drive the economies they ain't kiddin, they are actually behind the wheel. Of course it's easy to blame academics desperate for notoriety but who has instructed them in the shortcuts?

In commercial science the steering is by security exchanges with time in the pokey for scientists who bullsh-t.

The same regs should apply across the board to wrangle in the so called research scientists.

Poor old Michael was right about a lot of things wern,t he? Money can penetrate the tightest little crack in your armor. Once or twice I have been disasreously influanced by cash myself. There's no place for consensus in science you have to produce hard substantial metal parts, anything else is a painted dog turd.
