Everyone knows the Abrams the US exports are not the same Abrams they use themselves. For one, they do NOT share their gun stabilization technology.

Interesting fun fact: The main gun on the M1 Abrams can trace its lineage to the German 88 of WW2.

Apparently that tank was split open by surplus Soviet cold war RPG. The Abrams is as good as the F 35.

Those surplus Soviet tanks were also in Iraq. "Were" is the key word.

A soviet era RPG eh? First off, that Abrams was also a cold war version of the M1. It's been 35 years and the Abrams has been substantially upgraded and updated. Hell, it's much a superior tank today than the variant that went in during Desert Storm. Secondly, that was not a simple RPG. That was a 9M113 Konkurs anti-tank missile. Basically it was the Soviet version of the TOW missile used by the West.

TOW munitions have been replaced by an optical guidance system. If the Syrian Rebels were given TOW munitions then the flight path of both munitions would be similar, which they are. They are still last generation and rather than an HE warhead it has the newer IED warhead. In the 'old days' the tracks were the weak link.

Bad tank, bad. Considering the better ones comes from the air tanks would be better at stopping hoards of angry people than at securing some land via combat.

Relax I stated in an earlier post that the victim tank was an old model. I also knew that it was not a Walmart RPG. You people are so attached to your military equipment. Both sides are employing surplus cold war weaponry.

You can watch hundreds of Abrahms tanks being destroyed in the Iraq war. You tube. The tanks day has come and gone. All tanks.

No you can't. You can see a few. You can see IEDs go off near them. I know that near misses count to some though.

You can see every type of of Russian tank being BBQed though. THOUSANDS of flame outs on the net.

Yes I did. More than two hundred were destroyed in Iraq.

All caught on film too eh?
