An Ohio man who wanted to "push the gay out" of his disabled younger brother has been jailed for punching him and threatening to slice off his genitals.
Lawrence L. Featheroff, 38, was sentenced to 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to assault and abduction charges on Monday, the Columbus Dispatch reported. (external - login to view)
During the sentencing hearing, Det. Brian Lowe said Featheroff told police he became upset when his brother told him he had sexual thoughts about men.
Featheroff told police he "wanted to toughen him up to push the gay out of him and make him a normal person."
Police were called to the home after another brother became concerned the disabled brother was possibly being abused.
The victim, who the paper reported is reasonably high-functioning, had a concussion and sprained ankle when officers found him. They were also told Featheroff had held a butcher knife to his brother's genitals and threatened to cut them off.
