Someone Finally Noticed

...when a drunk woman couples with a drunk man, the drunk man is somehow still responsible, while the woman is a victim, because she's drunk.

SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION ADVICE FROM EMILY YOFFE: College Women: Stop Getting Drunk: It’s closely associated with sexual assault. And yet we’re reluctant to tell women to stop doing it. Of course, the men are often drunk, too. But when a drunk woman couples with a drunk man, the drunk man is somehow still responsible, while the woman is a victim, because she’s drunk. “Educating students about rape, teaching them that by definition a very drunk woman can’t consent to sex, is crucial.” Double standard much?

I do note that these college-alcohol problems seem to have gotten worse since the drinking age was boosted to 21, meaning that people went from drinking in bars, where there were non-drunk people around, to dorms and parties where everyone gets bombed.

I call BS on that. Drunk people have sex all the time and only a small number of them accuse each other of assault or rape. Even then not many of them actually go to trial.

Yeah, well take the pole out of your azz. Horny teenage boys trying to get laid by drunk teenage girls is pretty much the plot of half the teenage movies ever made.

Stick the pole deeper up yours. I said, in this context, you know, the one where the discussion at hand is how well alcohol lends itself to rape.

Yup. Somebody's gotta get the message out there to teenage males. When they are drunk and a drunk woman wants to have sex, she doesn't know what she's doing. They must say "no". Matter of fact, all males should say no to drunk women who want sex. They don't really want sex. It's all a delusion.

I think the guy's not likely to know what he's really doing either. Alcohol can do that to anyone. And some people don't even need alcohol.

Becausw NO means NO whether or not one is drunk society decided that.
besides remember the Bobby Bare song from the Drunk and crazy album?
It was called "Never went to bed with an ugly woman but I sure woke up with
a few"
Seriously people should not take advantage of someone simply because they
are drunk simple as that. Am I old fashioned I suppose so.

I'm afraid modern women today aren't expected to be responsible for their actions. It's always someone else's fault, and that's usually a man.

When they are drunk and a drunk woman wants to have sex, she doesn't know what she's doing.

Why does that only apply to women? Surely the same should apply to men, too.

Alcohol lends itself to bad decisions all around.

This is what slays me when they call GHB or roofies "date rape drugs." The biggest date rape drug ever is alcohol by a factor of about a million. There are evil predators out there.

alcohol when given to someone isn't solely for that purpose though. GHB on the other hand, when given to someone in the bar etc, is strictly for that reason.

GHB is used recreationally. A friend of mine tried to get me to try it once: "5 ml is like six beers," he said, "Just make sure you don't drink on it, or you might fall asleep and never wake up." I told him, "How about I just drink six beers and not worry about never waking up?" Andyways, sorry to say that friend fell asleep and never woke up again a couple of years later. Stupid.

But I know what you mena--GHB and roofies are used surreptitiously.

Young women--or young men--shouldn't get snot-hanging drunk. It only leads to trouble. But they don't listen. I never did. But the blame lies solely with the scumbags who take advantage. They are out there. I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and I've seen them--at parties, just waiting for a fawn to slip from the herd.
