Change.gov is gone.. along with all Obama's promises

The first rule of career criminals, a.k.a. politicians, is to get rid of the evidence and that’s exactly what the Obama administration just attempted to do. The Change.gov website is gone as of June 8, 2013.

Here’s the rub. Nothing ever really disappears on the internet because there are sites that capture “archived” versions of these websites. So if you want to go back in time on the Wayback Time Machine you will see that the site was still there on June 7th. What significance might that date have? Let’s see…

Isn’t that about the same time that Edward Snowden leaked the NSA documents? It’s probably not just coincidence that the site would be taken down at that point. The site has been up since 2008 I sincerely doubt their timing is that perfect. It would seem that there was good reason to remove it with recent events unfolding.

To prove a point let’s revisit Obama’s whistleblower policies from the website.
Here is Barack Obama’s policy toward the value and treatment of whistleblowers. This is a quote from the June 7th version:
Protect Whistleblowers: Often the best source of information about waste, fraud, and abuse in government is an existing government employee committed to public integrity and willing to speak out. Such acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled. We need to empower federal employees as watchdogs of wrongdoing and partners in performance. Barack Obama will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government. Obama will ensure that federal agencies expedite the process for reviewing whistleblower claims and whistleblowers have full access to courts and due process.
Can you see how Obama might want this information taken down?

The internet is the great equalizer when it comes to truth in media. There is not much that they can hide when you have bloggers and journalists with an axe to grind.

According to this Obama is promising due process. He might have had it taken down when he was considering a drone strike of Edward Snowden. If you don’t think that conversation happened very early in this scandal then you are more trusting than I.

Regardless of the “why’s and wherefore’s” we can not dispute that the site is gone. Why wait 5 years to take something down that could have been taken down a long time ago?

Do you understand my point? There has been no sense of urgency to remove those words for 5 years but now there seems to be a bit of extra motivation with the Snowden situation.

It is just a little bit too convenient for me to call is coincidence. It appears to be, more accurately, just another attempted cover up of the facts that is not very well executed.

This is change we can believe in?

Mr. Obama, shame on you. We are not stupid and not all Americans are low information voters.

Obama's biggest mistake was thinking he could actually cause a change when the republicans are still there to make sure he can't. As long as they can filibuster he has no chance. The rules need to be changed back to the old rules of filibuster, then they wouldn't be so quick to use it. They have filibustered pretty much every issue, because they no longer have to talk for hours on end, all they have to do now is say they are going to filibuster. In Obama's first year they filibustered over 100 times to the democrats filibustering of about 65 times during all 8 years of Bush's reign.

Do you really think it matters who is camping in the Whitehouse? It's all just a scam to make people feel like they voted and have a say in something they have no choice or say in.

The Dems had full control for two years and because of their incompetence many were tossed soundly from Congress.

Ok... get rid of the Senate filibuster. What do you do about the House of Representatives?

You do understand there are two Houses of Congress right?

That's absolutely right. Amongst other things, his "signature" piece of legislation, Obamacare, is a freakin' disaster. He coulda picked any of 32 universal health care plans and had 100% coverage, comparable outcomes, and half the per-capita cost. Instead, he abdicated responsibility to shape the plan and left it to design-by-committee. The definition of "elephant" is "a mouse designed by a committee."

What a waste.

It appears to matter what party the person in the whitehouse belongs to, doesn't it?

Not true , he is not have a filibuster proof majority. since his first year saw over 100 filibusters there was very little he could do. As for Obama care, that too was altered by the republicans, they didn't like the Romney care that Romney introduced some years before when he was governor.

Quite true. He left it to the Congressional Democrats to design the system, and what they came up with was basically the Insurance Company Guaranteed Profit Act.

In his first two years the Democrats had 58 seats and two Independents that typically voted with them.

How do you think they passed Obamacare? The Dems and Indys broke the filibuster. So... as we said... he had two years to do what he wanted and it was a disaster for him.

On to today... lets say we get rid of the filibuster in the Senate... what do you wish to do with the GOP led House of Representatives?

As for Obama care, that too was altered by the republicans, they didn't like the Romney care that Romney introduced some years before when he was governor.

Let me get this straight... are you saying that the Affordable Health Care Act is failing because the GOP altered it?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_Care_and_Education_Reconciliation_Act_of_2010

In the Senate, the bill faced numerous amendments made by the Republicans, all of which failed. However, the Republicans had two provisions dealing with Pell Grants stricken from the bill due to violations of budget reconciliation rules, forcing the bill to return to the House. The two provisions were: The fourth paragraph of Sec. 2101(a)(2)(C) and Sec. 2101(a)(2)(D).On March 25, the bill passed the Senate by a 56–43 vote, with all Republicans and 3 Democrats voting against it. The only Democratic Senators to vote against were: Lincoln (D-AR), Nelson (D-NE) & Pryor (D-AR). Later in the same day the House passed the modified bill by a 220–207 vote, sending it to President Obama for a signature.

Keep going Chris.

You know to over come a filibuster he needed a 2/3 vote, there are 100 senators, 2/3 means 67 voted were needed.

Things aren't going as bad as the right want it to be. That's why they are inventing scandals at record pace.

Don't you understand Obama and the Democrats hold the new voter allegiance
The new voter is middle class lower middle class and immigrants especially
from south of the border. They don't care about things the Republicans think
about. Two questions One when do we eat and when (not how) do we vote.
Obama brought social change things such as medicare which he should have
cut the private system out completely but time takes care of that.
Social legislation, making easier for immigrants to become legal voter getter
issues and they will continue into the next election right after they blame the
now scary right for the problems of the last two years. The off year election
will see many Republicans fall
Most people don't understand, it doesn't matter what he did or didn't do he won
and set the stage for the next Democrat for the White House and she will win

This must be the "Oh My God, A Website is Down" scandal. Things are really getting bad.
