Italian mourner killed by lightning while scattering brother's ashes | News.com.au

A GRIEVING sibling was killed by lightning as he scattered his brother's ashes at a remote Alpine mountaintop, Italy's Corriere Della Sera reported yesterday.

Federico Dean, 41, chose the picturesque Jof di Montasio peak in the Julian Alps because it was the favorite spot of his younger brother, reported Italy's Corriere Della Sera yesterday.

But after sprinkling the remains and saying a final goodbye to the sibling he lost in a car crash last June, Dean became caught up in a storm.

The married dad-of-one from Trieste, northeastern Italy, was struck by lightning as he tried to climb down a ladder and fell to his death, the newspaper said.

I wasn't sure if this belonged in the News section, Science & Environment, or Spirituality & Philosophy so I put it here.... Somewhat ironic.

What an ash!

And what was he doing on a ladder at the top of a mountain?

Does he qualify as an Italian Barbecue?
