Or somebody with a bunch of marbles in their mouth. Who would have though that 250 years or so would change a language that much.

If you take out the anglicisms and locally developed words, linguists indicate tha Acadian French and Cajun are much closer to classical French ( 17th century) than French in France today. The same, to a lesser degree, applies to Quebequois French.
