Canadian versus Taliban

A large group of Taliban soldiers are moving down a road when they hear a
voice call from behind a sand-dune.

"One Canadian soldier is better than ten Taliban".

The Taliban commander quickly sends 10 of his best soldiers over the dune
whereupon a gun-battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes, then
silence. The voice then calls out "One Canadian soldier is better than one
hundred Taliban".

Furious, the Taliban commander sends his next best 100 troops over the dune
and instantly a huge gunfight commences. After 10 minutes of battle, again
silence. The voice calls out again "One Canadian soldier is better than one
thousand Taliban".

The enraged Taliban Commander musters one thousand fighters and sends them
across the dune. Cannon, rocket and machine gun fire ring out as a huge
battle is fought. Then silence.

Eventually one wounded Taliban fighter crawls back over the dune and with
his dying words tells his commander, "Don't send any more men, it's a trap,
...there's actually two of them."

It would be nice if it was that easy.

Of cource the reality of the situation is we're facing an opponent that has generations of experience in fighting an insurgentcy style war and has almost unlimited recruits from the local population and a steady source of munitions and supplies from Pakistan.

We're losing our young men and women on a constant basis to this group you seem to think is a joke, what's funny about that.

What are you, twelve or something?

You can't take with bombs and bullets that which was won by blood, sweat and tears. Viet Cong weren't always willing either. The choice was made for them. Until we understand - live, breath, eat, sleep and know it as part of our own psyche - they'll always have home turf advantage.

Please observe the forum you are posting in. Start a Taliban war rant some place else like the war monger forum. You know, politics.

Hey speaking of politics here's a break down of the origin of that word.

Poli - meaning 'many'
Tics - meaning 'blood sucking creatures.

BTW, Good joke Locutus.

I laughed... a good joke is a good joke. I'd have laughed if it were two completely different nationalities involved. Probably even if the Canadian was the butt of the joke, 'specially if it was a newfie.... KIDDING!

I get that it might not be so funny to folks who've got a family member or friend over there right now. Ah well. It seems even humour is relative.

Gotta admit... Sounds almost as good between Canadian and Taliewhacker as it did in the original when it was between Newph and Bluenoser....

There's a pretty clear political message here as far as I'm concerned.
