Like Cats and Dogs

A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.

An aquarium is just interactive television for cats.

Buy a dog a toy and it will play with it for ever. Buy a cat a present and it will play with the wrapper for 10 minutes.

Cat's motto: No matter what you've done wrong, always try to make it look like the dog did it.

Although cats are rather delicate creatures and they are subject to a good many ailments, I never heard of one who suffered from insomnia.

Dogs and cats instinctively know the exact moment their owners will wake up. Then they wake them 10 minutes sooner.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

Dogs believe they are human. Cats believe they are God.

Dogs may shed, but cats shred.

Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful

I had to get rid of my husband. The cat was allergic.

I hope to be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult?

The bit about cats and toys made me think about the new 'cat toy' I bought for my Tigger.

A chunk of honeysuckle wood.

He loves it. Scratches it. Licks it. Rolls on it. Rubs his face all over it. And then finally, lays down and uses it as a pillow.

It's the best little bit of cat heaven I've ever gotten him.

My cat is the worlds best hoover. There is no bug safe, nor any crumb of food. Bits of paper and such is vanquished to under the bed...as are loose socks, shoelaces, hair ties, etc.

She's almost better then a maid.

I had a dog that got that nic name, hoover. He had to be taught the command, 'get out of the kitchen' as he was so good you would be tripping over him.

Hey, here's a few more.

If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket then giving Fido only two of them.

In order to keep a true perspective of one's importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him.

No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversation as the dog does.

Outside of a dog, a book is probably man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.

People that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life.

Things that upset a terrier may pass virtually unnoticed by a Great Dane.

Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.

We wonder why the dogs always drink out of our toilets, but look at it from their point of view: why do humans keep peeing into their water bowls?

When a man's best friend is his dog, that dog has a problem.

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Why is it when you blow at a dog's nose, he'll freak - but take him for a car ride with a window down?...

Those little dogs can have a big attitude. It's good they're not really that big.

Jack Russels Terrors.........as tenacious and intelligent as can be. I'd equate them with Pitbulls on intelligents, but not so much on their willingness to please their owners...Maybe more like little Rhinoceros's or is that rhinoceri?

my buddy worked with horses and he used to make friends by blowing in their noses.....

My big way of bonding with kids when they are like 2 is by going real close and breathing in and out fast with me nose near their's...it works ...lol...

I'll let you in on a li'l secret. Before that morning whizz, I lock eyes with the guy in the mirror and go **** you! That way, I'm the first one. After that, it doesn't matter - as long as I got to be FIRST!

That's a good idea so when someone asks,'Have you been told today?', you can snap back, 'Yes, now **** you.'

You must have a JR or have been around one, Twila! Shell and I had a laugh and totally agree. Smart is accurate. No willingness to please is accurate. Rhino is accurate. heehee

I'll post some vids of Moche doing her tricks once I get it edited. She is very cute when she's behaving!

I think in this case it is rhinosaurus.

Some companions are servants, others sycophants, but some of the best are equals who share a sense of humour, style and a profound love of mayhem.

I think that describes our Jack-Pug perfectly.

my chocolate lab, Joe, (pictured), will go in the water anywhere, anytime, from any height, or rough water, whatever,to retrieve just about anything, B UT, I bought him a wading pool to help him cool off in the hot weather, and he is
scared of it, have to drag him in to play with me, then he just sits there looking mournful.
I tried throwing retrieving stuff in the pool, and he goes around and around till he can reach it from
the outside.

His footing probably feels unsure in a wading pool. My dog won't run on lino, and it's probably for much the same reason.

Indeed. He seems to have settled down a bit as he gets older. He has the Pug's size, loyalty, and friendliness as well as the Pug's cat like moves (he can stalk and pounce on something much like a cat -- Pugs are good mousers) but has the energy and spirit and tenacity of a Jack Russell.

IdRatherBeSkiing ... what a cutie!! I didn't expect that cross to be such a good fit. You can sure see both breeds.

Here's our JR, Moche ... your fur baby has the JR eyes for sure. Dang, they sure get us trained easily with that look they have, eh?
