This recipe is certainly easy

BRAISED BEEF SHANKS

Beef shanks used to be one of the cheaper cuts but with the advent of the crock pot, there aren't many cheap cuts left.

Ingredients

four 11/2" thick beef shanks
one large onion quartered
one can Cambell's beef broth
one cup red wine(not cooking wine)
one tablespoon dried basil
half teaspoon black pepper
one cup of white flour
three stalks of celery, three large carrots, washed and cut into one inch pieces
one half cup vegetable oil

Trim off any obvious fat and cut through the skin in four or five places around each shank. dredge shanks in flour and
brown on both sides. put vegetables on bottom of crock pot.....Arrange meat on top of vegetables......Pour wine and beef broth
over meat....Sprinkle basil and pepper over meat........Cover and cook at low setting for 9 or 10 hours.

Remove meat and vegetables to a warm platter. Pour juice into saucepan and bring to a boil and thicken with flour
This can be served with either mashed potaoes or hot buttered noodles and a salad..

Melt chocolate, mix in cornflakes, spoon on to waxed sheet and let cool in fridge. Doesn't get much easier. Unless I get into need to use steel bowl over but not in pot of boiling water to melt chocolate to stop it from burning.
