What I remember is the dark, tasty juices from the moosemeat and bones. I think we remember what we thought were the "good things" from our youth. I really don't know if there was a better way to cook the moosemeat but I do remember my mom's cooking. More than anything else, we think fondly of what we grew up with.

If the creamed peas on toast were made with canned peas like my mom made them, I would include them as well.
